@ClownWorld The power hungry politicians know that they can fool people into supporting their authoritarian aspirations by promising them free stuff while making people who have more than them seem like villains.
@ambermarieduke@reaganreese_@DailyCaller American foreign aid funds support a lot of foreign corruption. It's time to take a really close look at what we give and how it's used.
@SenSanders Those jobs are gone either way. We can adapt to the new technologies or let other countries lead the way and they'll reap the rewards of new technology.
@JamesTate121 I found this in Grandpa's toolbox after he passed. It's probably from the 80s, but it's still better than the ones available now. I found some decent plastic Australian clothespins on Amazon, but they fade in the sun and the old ones break in freezing weather.
Buy once, cry once
@BasedMikeLee Yes. The ballot can be secure and convenient. When in-person voting is required, the majority can easily cause it to be onerous for citizens to let their voice be heard. If mail in ballots were eliminated, then early in-person voting should be expanded.
@BasedMikeLee I should also be able to vote at a point place near my work. The technology exists to secure the ballot and make it convenient for those of us who have busy schedules with work and families.
@NickJFreitas@Not_the_Bee EssilorLuxottica (the company that owns LensCrafters, Oakley, Ray Ban, Target optical, etc) must still have very persuasive lobbyists in the future.
@RickIvesFL@deaflibertarian It sounds like your landlord is a gambler. Eventually your landlord is going to lose and someone who is better at math will replace him.
@TimRoge05519228@archeohistories Collectivist ideologies like communism and socialism invite wannabe authoritarians to power, who them promise to absolve the people of responsibility and "fix everything". Beware of politicians who promise to fix everything...if only we give them a little more power.
@GeneReid3@Rothmus They are part of the reason it's so difficult to build anything...a house, a business, a road. Environmental regulations were calculated to stop all progress. Only those with enough money to jump through the flaming hoops are allowed to create stuff.
@ASIF_A_D0N@baker_girlie School buses are supposed to stop in their lane and put on Amber and then red flashers. Once the red flashers and stop arm are deployed, ALL traffic approaching from both directions is required to stop.
@ChrisMartzWX I'm skeptical about the theory that reducing our carbon footprint will affect the weather...or the climate. We've been producing carbon emissions for a long time and if climate change is anthropogenic, stopping now won't change anything.
