@TeacherTapp - did I imagine it or did we get asked which subject we most regret not studying? If I’m not losing my marbles, any chance you could remind me of the outcome? Thank you!
@ajk_44 You’re an inspiration. Previously ‘just’ for improving the standard of maths teaching across the UK and beyond, now also for helping raise awareness of something which somehow still has an element of taboo to it.
Our newest student created addition to our poster page - it honors the amazing Maryam Mirzakhani with one of her beautiful quotes, and a great message! See all of our posters here and send us yours! https://t.co/ovM0gukD05
@jemmaths Great article. The idea of pre-planning when your assessment will be, what it will look like and most crucially what it will *do*, really should not be news for those who claim to understand education. Sadly, ....
@BareauMaths @onechriswhite@mathsjem Currently trying to get a ‘FM only’ Maths class due to prerequisites issues. Longer term I would like to make it like @BareauMaths describes as the opportunity to retake Maths is powerful for some. Funding prob needs to be a discussion re: likely U grade in those cases.
@DrWilkinsonSci@TeacherTapp Worked at a school that set up a 3-class sized space and within a year built stud walls to create separate spaces. 4 years later, tried the trick again with a 6-class space. You don’t need three guesses do you?
@TeacherTapp what was with today’s question on non-specialist teaching load? No “0” option - do tutor time or PSHE count in this or am I the only lucky enough to just teach my subject? 😳
@miss_mcinerney@TeacherTapp Thank you for your hard work, it’s making me think a lot more about what assumptions I’ve made down the years. And confirming a few too!
This resonates so strongly - the training, experiences, and abilities of a team of teachers must always be taken into account before deciding on structure. Had that exact argument with a HT who enforced mixed ability and PBL on a dept - Ofsted Inadequate with SM followed. https://t.co/j2IKusiaz5
@ClimateOutreach Thanks! Completely agree that there’s a high desire to engage but uncertainty about how, will share that report with a few colleagues.
@ClimateOutreach do you have any data sets for school level maths lessons? Anything for time series, cumulative frequency, box plots, Venn diagrams, pie charts, histograms would be amazingly helpful to give lessons a bit more impact
"It's addictive" said @SLSingh - and now it's won 3 stars in the #techforteachers 2018 awards!
