@SpottydogPaulG @StuartMaggs@DanNeidle I think that’s what Dan’s suggested - if you inherit farmland and sell it then you’ll be taxed as anyone else would be on inherited cash or property.
@averagepunter81 @CockertonMark She wasn’t a complaints manager at HBOS - there’s either another RR people are mixing her up with or some “misremembering”.
@MonkEmma@MrJamesMay Apparently not. Its value for IHT is as farmland, not development land. Prices have been driven up by wealthy people buying farmland to avoid IHT.
@100Climbs Love the way the UK press are reporting it as a competitive, triumphant finish to his career. Phillipsen and Girmay sat up about 50m out. And Froome leading the break til 3km to go!
@winkywinkle@KirstieMAllsopp That is what I think they should have to do. They gpt planning and bought the site with (say) 40% affordable or housing assoc houses - make them stick to it.
@winkywinkle@KirstieMAllsopp And you can stop the loophole that lets developers wriggle out of affordable housing targets after planning permission to build more and more 4 and 5 bed houses. They don’t have to justify it - just say “ah, profit is looking a bit tight - best cut affordable from 40% to 10%”
@Secret_Junkyard @KirstieMAllsopp And actually you only have to go 6 miles from Ilkley to Silsden (nice little town) and look what you get for £165k. https://t.co/54qUZM8hei
