Fear is controlling your life. Your fear of failing in front of others is your jail of happiness. Please let this be the sign that encourages you to jump and finally live your life.
I was with with @AnnouncerScott courtside before the game and watched LaMelo Ball run past a kid with a Hornets No. 1 jersey trying to get an autograph. Not sure if LaMelo saw him, but DeMar DeRozan saw the scene play out and went over and talked to the kid and took a picture.
“People always asked "Why do you pay so much money for your kid to do sports”?
Well I have a confession to make; I don't pay for my kid to “to do sports”
Personally, I couldn't care less about what sport she does
So, if I am not paying for sports what am I paying for?
- I pay for those moments when my kid becomes so tired she wants to quit but doesn’t
- I pay for those days when my kid comes home from school and is “too tired" to go to her training but she goes anyway.
- I pay for my kid to learn to be disciplined, focused and dedicated
- I pay for my kid to learn to take care of her body and learn how to correctly fuel her body for success.
- I pay for my kid to learn to work with others and to be a good team mate, gracious in defeat and humble in success
- I pay for my kid to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don’t get that placing or title they'd hoped for, but still they go back week after week giving it their best shot.
- I pay for my kid to learn to make and accomplish goals
- I pay for my kid to respect, not only themselves, but others, officials, judges and coaches
- I pay for my kid to learn that it takes hours and hours, years and years of hard work and practice to create a champion and that success does not happen overnight
- I pay for my kid to be proud of small achievements, and to work towards long term goals
- I pay for the opportunity my child has and will have to make life-long friendships, create lifelong memories, to be as proud of her achievements as I am
- I pay so that my child can be in the gym instead of in front of a screen
- I pay for those rides home where we make precious memories talking about practice, both good and bad
-I pay so that my child can learn the importance of time management and balancing what is important like school and keeping grades up
I could go on but, to be short, I don't pay for sports
I pay for the opportunities that sports provides my kid with to develop attributes that will serve her well throughout her life and give her the opportunity to bless the lives of others.
From what I have seen I think it is a great investment!”

Joe Rogan just described the average modern life in 42 seconds—and it stings because it's so accurate.
"Most people don't have that kind of self-control and discipline. They don't have to.
Alarm goes off → wash, brush teeth, eat something, go to work → do the bare minimum → sneak phone time in the bathroom → come home → Netflix → sleep → repeat.
Family problems, job stress, car broken, house issues, bills piling up… everything's always wrong, everything's distracting."
He calls it what it is: a loop most people are trapped in, not because they're lazy, but because the system doesn't demand more—and distraction is the default.
Be honest: How much of your day feels like autopilot right now?
And what (if anything) are you doing to break the cycle?
@krishcoughran Also agree. Kings likely have a rep that they will give in under pressure. Not doing anything sucks, but getting fleeced would be worse.
Every single thing you want in life is on the other side of something that sucks. That suck might be 100 hard workouts, 100 bland meals, 100 hours of focused work, or 100 hard conversations. Embrace the cost of entry. The answers you seek are found in the actions you avoid.
Confused on why so many people try to avoid “hard” think that “hard”is bad … so many have such big expectations & yet aren’t willing to deal with the adversity, hardships and grind both physically and emotionally that it costs to “get there” .. friends it’s life .. it’s called life … don’t be scared of “hard” get good at “hard”

Curt Cignetti shares a universal truth about habits and consequences.
"In life - you got freedom of choice, but not freedom of consequence."
"First you form your habits, then your habits form you."
Every choice and action you take compounds. The small decisions you make daily - preparation, work ethic, and how you respond - those become your habits.
And over time, those habits become your identity.
You're free to choose. But the consequences of those choices aren't optional.
Your habits are shaping who you become.

@JMDeWall@SacramentoKings@mypmstore Same. Saw them. Saw Reggie Theus and Wayman Tisdale (RIP) too at the OG “gym”. Many of those teams had middle road talent, but damn did they play hard and get up for the fans. Every. Damn. Time.
Kings fans:
As we embark on season 41, opinions may vary as to how this season will go.
Some may think we will struggle, some may think we will be average, and some may think we will exceed expectations.
One thing is for certain, we ALL want the same thing- a sustainable winning team and culture.
Being a Kings fan is something you have to want. Likely you didn’t choose it, you were born into it- by geography, family, or both.
Being a Kings fan is rarely cool, rarely a part of a bandwagon, it’s usually by default. Like a big nose or big ears or a scar, you deal with the hand you’re dealt and hope for the best.
Also, we tend to pass this beautiful disease onto our children, as it was passed to me and now mine.
After 40+ years, I cannot say that someday a title will come, but I will always cling to the hope that it will.
I watched OKC and their fans celebrate last night, and I repeated the same ritual I’ve gone through every single year- visualizing what that celebration would look like in Sacramento.
Over the years, I’ve gotten very good at that visualization, because it’s often what I think about when my head hits the pillow in that moment between awake and asleep.
We have seen mistakes, injuries, even death and other tragedies, all driving home those three words synonymous with this team: Bigger than Basketball. And yes, we’ve had some (not as often as we should) wonderful, memorable moments.
We will argue, bicker, and vent, but only because we are all so passionate in our want to get to the Promised Land, and to stay there as long as we can.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…….
and sometimes our faith in this team is all we can hold onto, our North Star.
Faith that someday the right decisions will be made.
Faith that someday we will once again catch lightning in a bottle.
Faith that when and if all that happens, we will see those good fortunes through to the end, without shortcuts or rash decisions.
We have seen players, executives, and even owners come and go, but WE are the one constant heartbeat.
Regardless of what’s going on in the world, what color we are, what God we pray to, what political party we are or aren’t, we know that anywhere in the world we can see someone wearing that purple jersey across a room and exchange a knowing glance, the knowing look of people that have been through a rollercoaster of emotional wars.
To call one’s self a Kings Fan is a true Shibboleth of endless loyalty.
You have to want it to be a Kings Fan, and through thin and the occasional thick we stay, clinging to the hope that THIS will finally be the year things turn around for good.
Not because we want it, not because that’s how it should be, but because each and every one of us DESERVES IT.
To each and every one of you, I raise my proverbial purple goblet and salute you, the indomitable, indestructible Sacramento Kings fan, the true definition of loyalty and love, come what may.
No matter what happens this season, it is no small comfort knowing we will all be in it TOGETHER.
Same as it ever was.
Happy Opening Day.
