@T2Rugby They do get guaranteed matches against 1x top 12 team (Geo) and 3x top 24 teams (Spa, Por, Rom) each year though through the REC. (Based on current rankings and staying in the REC). Not as good as nations cup div 2, but still enough to remain competitive.
@simonhaslam8@T2Rugby Bigger picture for England now is that they need to build up other nations so their team has some competition or people will lose interest in international rugby. Other nations will build their own leagues over time but short term their players need real & regular competition.
Europe’s disarmed state is …
an advantage
✅… IF we use it right by stepping up, NOW to arm ourselves, for the ST, MT & LT future in a smart way
❌not slowly spending a fortune trying to replace US capabilities & arming ourselves to fight the last war, not the next one.

@SquidgeRugby I’m hopeful that the money saved can be invested to bring more club rugby to FTA. A deal with Premier Sports could net a European rugby match or two on match weekends. And a deal with TNT could bring a weekly Premiership game. I’ll bet they’re both stretched, so deals to be done.
@TightFive_Rugby Does this free up (a lot of) funding for BBC and ITV to invest in domestic and European rugby?
A partnership with Premier Sports, maybe for the Euros, or one with TNT for the Premiership could see regular weekly domestic coverage of English rugby as well as URC.
New thinking.
@akarlin I bought £25 of it on a whim because a random guy at the garage told me to (seriously) and can see it’s gone on a bit of a tear. There’s too much hype to get sensible analysis via Google but I’d be interested to know - what’s wrong with this one (compared to, say, Bitcoin)?
