I have four independent movies to consider for your spooky season watchlists: The Harbinger, The Witch in the Window, We Go On, and Yellowbrickroad. If you like any of them, please spread the word. I’d really like to make more films, bigger films - and your support really helps.
@HugoVale_@JoJoFromJerz It only takes a quick look in any dictionary to show you’re wrong. Sex isn’t gender. Gender isn’t sex. None of this is new. Maybe don’t discuss “simple facts” until you know them yourself?
@2A_Advocate1985@mushycrouton Trans women who look like any other women should just go into men’s bathrooms and…see what happens? Can you guess? What irks me is the implied malicious intent, the talk of “invading”. People just want to be who they are. There’s no scheme. Sex & gender have never been the same.
@Brett1231@SoCalGreatOne@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard So that definition is not meaningful to you? It’s the dictionary, man, can’t we at least come together on that? Trans & their activists were forced into a corner to fight legislative actions & disinformation by the right. Don’t forget who the enemy is. It’s not trans people.
@Brett1231@SoCalGreatOne@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard Here’s the Webster definition of gender: 1. : sex sense 1a. 2. : the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex.
By definition state of mind is a factor. And I’d argue it was working okay until a humanitarian issue was made political.
@Brett1231@SoCalGreatOne@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard If my trans friend went into a men’s bathroom, there’d be actual drama. And they would be very unsafe from assault. Cause she looks like any woman.
Let me ask you this - do you think trans people are actually just mentally ill. Is that your stance?
@Brett1231@SoCalGreatOne@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard Transgender people fighting for basic rights are not bullies. And I haven’t bullied you once. I’ve respectfully debated and advocated with facts. Dems can’t afford to let incels and terfs and loudmouths without degrees dictate policies based on science.
@SoCalGreatOne@Brett1231@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard Ugggghhh. Sexual orientation and gender identity are separate things. A trans lesbian is a woman who’s attracted to other women, just like any other lesbian. It’s not about ‘opposite sex,’ it’s about identity and who someone is attracted to. It’s not hard!
@SoCalGreatOne@Brett1231@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard Women’s spaces exist to ensure safety and privacy, and trans women use them because they’re women, not men. It’s about respecting people’s identities while maintaining safety for everyone—solutions don’t have to exclude one group to support another. Sorry you think otherwise 🤷♂️
@SoCalGreatOne@Brett1231@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard The idea of “men who fancy themselves women” dismisses trans women’s identities, which isn’t accurate or fair. Trans women have always existed and just want to use the bathroom where they feel safest—there’s no widespread evidence of harm caused by this.
@SoCalGreatOne@Brett1231@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard Sex and gender describe different things, so no one’s “depriving” anyone of words—we’re just using them more precisely. A trans lesbian is a homosexual because she’s a woman who’s attracted to other women.
@Brett1231@SoCalGreatOne@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard A trans woman in a men’s bathroom would cause way more drama and you know it. Trans women have been using the correct bathroom forever and the vast vast vast majority of times other women they’re in there with do not know or care because people mind their own business.
@SoCalGreatOne@Brett1231@cdamburst47@jonfavs@patrickgaspard The trans men I know don’t say they’re female so I’m not sure what you mean. Trans women say they’re female because that’s their gender—it’s who they are, not a scheme or ambiguity. The benefit is simple: they just want to be treated with respect and live authentically.
