Our @OctopusEV charger had safety and timing features removed overnight three months ago. No warning, no help from @OctopusEnergy -our account has always been black is now red because of high daytime charging costs. We are not alone. 'outrageously good'? @MartinSLewis @WhichUK

We have written to @eocharging about this and you have ignored us. Removing functionality last November with no warning- even to @octopusenergy apparently and leaving us high and dry is more shoddy than good don't you think? What are we supposed to do?

30th November 2025, you will no longer be able to access or manage your EO Mini Pro 2 through the EO Smart Home App. This means that any existing smart charging schedules set via the app will be cleared and all devices will be automatically unlocked. @eocharging why no notice?😡

@OctopusEnergy @canido_steve So Steve: our @octopusEV charger suddenly had all safety and timer functionality removed online overnight and is now a useless non-UK-compliant box so we can't use @OctopusEnergy Go or other overnight tarifs. Your excitement may not last too long mate: good luck.

@OctopusEnergy @Uplight @SchneiderElec When @OctopusEnergy last got into a partnership- with @eocharging Octopus customers were left dumped with a non-compliant @octopusEV charger and no recompense when it suddenly lost all functionality and UK compliance. How long do we have to wait @octopusenergy before someone talks to us? We want to resolve this problem and see some 'outrageously good ' service not wind up making a claim. We are currently getting up at 0030 (AM) in the dark to charge our car due to this issue. @OctopusEV.

Lezanne @OctopusEnergy reassured us: 'I will ensure that once the investigation into the billing gap is finalized, we apply the necessary credits to your account to cover the difference you have been forced to pay at the higher rate'. That was January: nothing has happened.

Octopus says this charger is not an @OctopusEnergy or @OctopusEV charger it was installed under an agreement between Octopus and @eocharging - less than 4 years later it is non compliant in UK and useless. Neither company cares and we are high and dry.😠

When all the timing functions and safety features were removed from our @OctopusEnergy car charger on 30/11/25 with no warning we complained to @OctopusEnergy who promised us 'outrageously good' customer service. FYI apparently this means our complaint is in a file somewhere.

So @octopus energy you have disabled our OCTOPUS branded charger with no notice so it no longer works as a timer, consequently we have gone from hundreds in credit to a hundred in debt on our Octopus account because of the huge cost of charging a car on daytime tarif -

Under their own description of ‘spectacularly good’ customer service @OctopusEnergy have explained that they think around four years is a fine effective lifespan for one of their £1000 value car charger installations. @OctopusEV. We disagree. Other suppliers are available .

According to @OctopusEnergy this is NOT an octopus car charger -it is certainly not a smart one. Not UK govt compliant either, It’s not old obvs. just not supported by the nations most hyped energy company.
