Sneak peak...

So our incredible R&D team in Portadown have been beavering away and we'd love around 10 guinea pig customers to trial Cosy Cooler (slightly paradoxical code name but it alliterates nicely!)

Essentially, a cooling add on for the Cosy Heat Pump. Probably the most requested feature we've had, for obvious reasons...

We'll miss this Summer but hope to be properly available next Summer.

Martin is, of course, right and the big picture matters:
1. Agile typically saves money over time, if you don’t use much at peak periods (indeed, even today - avoiding peak means it’s not too bad) - we’ve had much worse peaks, for much longer, during winter but still delivered better value overall. I’ve always said agile’s not for everyone, to be clear
2. Today it looks like the uk’s outdated system really struggled to optimise itself - for example, importing elec from Holland whilst paying uk generators to turn off. We desperately need to reform the wholesale market to stop this nonsense
3. The reality is is that *everyone* is paying for that peak - on typical tariffs peaks get smoothed out so you don’t see them, but they’ll be incorporated into the price you pay - I’m pleased that agile reveals what’s really happening so we can all debate Uk elec policy - and of course, customers on agile can avoid it which is why they typically pay less than others
4. Speaking of which, saving sessions allow customers on other tariffs to get paid if they use less in these periods. I wish we paid more but the system is distorted against customers and we desperately want that to change

The key is - the uk needs to overhaul the electricity market to reduce prices for everyone. Incumbents have successfully lobbied to stop that but we can’t give up
