@docrussjackson@UKLabour@Ed_Miliband Worse is, we know the technology doesn't work, the Yanks spent billions in the Gulf of Mexico proving this. This is just vested interests skimming taxpayers money to continue to pollute, while claiming they're "working on a fix". Its the most obvious distraction gambit!
@PippaCrerar The Yanks have already wasted billions of dollars on carbon capture schemes in the Gulf of Mexico and never managed to get even the most thermodynamic promising type to work. All they did was to prove ot doesn't work. This is just a cash handout of taxpayers money to fossil indus
Remember this meme @elonmusk posted? Apparently it was created by someone named Sofiya, who worked for a Russian government agency sanctioned by the US and aimed at spreading propaganda in the West. @cxemu got access to a massive data leak and uncovered some interesting details.
@PeterStefanovi2@SkyNews@BBCNews I've long said that the Broadcast media should be banned from doing "Review of the Papers" segments and should not be allowed to show or reference Tabloid (or even broadsheet) newspapers at all. If this was the rule, the tabloids would disappear in a month..
@declassifiedUK This is the kind of thing that should be widely taught as part of the school curriculum. It's arguably more relevant than much of WWII history now is. As much as I was already aware of this element of our involvement in Iranian history, none of it was due to school history!
You would have thought Germany's history would give it moral clarity after Russia invaded Ukraine. But that's not the case at all. German exports to Russia's satellite countries like Georgia have surged (lhs) in contrast to Japan (rhs). A deeply shameful chapter for Germany...
@Psyched0001 @adam_tooze No! They're just buying new cars as if there are no sanction! And just about anything else they need it's all just going in via unsanctioned satellite countries. The West need to think long and hard about export restrictions to anywhere east of Latvia....
@Psyched0001 @adam_tooze Are you aware how many luxury automobiles have been exported to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan over the last 2 years??? Given these countries have almost no money, where do you think these cars are actually ending up...same deal with CNC machines and tooling...
@EdConwaySky@BylinesScotland Although what this does show is that by 2040 or so, today's licensing will account for a whopping 40% of the production output...although that's 40% of a smaller total output compared to today.
@MartinSLewis Coffee beans. It should be sold in 1/2 pound bags (227g in metric). Still is, but a lot of suppliers/supermarkets are now stiffing you with a 200g bag and charging the same....it's niche, I know, but still damn annoying
@t0nyyates Perhaps Reforms success might finally be the catalyst that drives a move to proportional representation.....Labour must surely know that eventually FPTP will eventually get them. Better to use your power now to change the system, while there is no possible opposition to it....
@CarolineLucas Tellingly he didn't say we couldn't join the EEA or EC...... that would fix 90% of our issues and pave the way for a repeat electoral victory in 2029....
@t0nyyates Of course if we'd won our referendum first, then Cameron would've been able/allowed to hold another, so we'd all still be in the EU.....#alternativehistory
