@MisterHouse18@JKap415 Hydration breaks are all about ads and the money that brings in. We’ve had hydration breaks before when the temperature was high - that’s for player safety. Putting it into every game for “fairness” is BS and a way to get it in for money
@rationalhumanis Best take of it so far, the intent of the rule has been forgotten (gaining an unfair advantage) the rule needs to change to allow for the tech. U won’t get this discussion on X but this is what football fans have been saying for years
@Quetzalgoatlus@joachimwernerss It doesn’t solve the problem there would still be the borderline decisions but it would make staying onside more of a skill rather the what it currently is which is luck
@MisterHouse18@JKap415 If tradition was as big a factor as u are thinking we wouldn’t have these “hydration breaks”
Golden goal was brought in to try and increase the drama during extra time when it turned out that wasn’t happening it went back to how it was similar happened with the away goal rule
@MisterHouse18@JKap415 That’s not right. Golden goal was a thing for a little while but it didn’t lead to further entertainment. Both teams just became defensive - scared to lose the game so it was just boring until pens. Tradition is a huge part to the game but it doesn’t stop changes
@shhhbreslin This is what is current being trialed in Canada and is commonly know as Wengers rule. It does only effectively move the line but the main complaint about this rule change is it will just mean defences will drop deeper
