Not a single word is untrue
It is a clear-sighted DIAGNOSIS + WARNING of political hucksters who lie for power so they can control, cheat, steal
Highly-functioning, moral societies are built around freedom, liberty, risk and reward.
New paper: every law in America is technically public. But not really, until now!
With @DenisPeskoff at UC Berkeley, we built a corpus of ~every publicly accessibly city and county law, and released a huge chunk of it!
2.2 million laws, you're (probably) covered in it!

The great lie is that society is divided between rich and poor.
The great truth, as David Friedberg puts it, is makers vs takers.
Makers build, create, and deliver real value: houses, software, art, businesses, and everything that moves civilization forward.
Takers watch, criticize, analyze, and politic. They push the lie that the rich hoard unfairly so the poor must seize it… all while positioning themselves to rule the chaos.
As @friedberg tells his kids: “At the end of the day, if you made something and someone else valued it, you were a maker. That was an amazing achievement. That is a great day.”
Takers thrive on division. Makers drive progress.
Time to choose your side.
The commies are right, we should take Elons trillion dollars to finally solve hunger in Africa.
Oh, wait, $2.6 trillion has already been thrown at Africa in foreign aid since 1960 & people are still hungry.
The commies are right, we should take Elons trillion dollars & solve homelessness.
Oh, wait, hundreds of billions have already been thrown at homelessness & the homeless population has only grown exponentially.
New York alone spent $81K per homeless person per year & the homeless population exploded.
Not having enough money is never the problem.
The commies who want to manage the money are the problem because they always find a way for that money to land in their own back pockets.
Thats the ONLY reason they want Elon’s money- to funnel it right back into their campaigns & pockets.
There ain’t a single genuine thought of good deeds behind the “tax the rich” movement.
The fact that orbital compute is (soon) the most efficient way to build datacenters says a lot about how much excessive regulation has harmed progress on earth.
It’s more efficient to fly to outer space than to try and build on land.
Freedom is always on the frontier.
The U.S. constitution was a breakthrough in that it protected citizens from tyrannical government. What it missed, and what we should try to integrate into the next constitution (on Mars, special economic zones, etc), is restraint against unchecked growth of regulation and government spending.
I’ve been slowly collecting proposals for how that could work. Might do a post on it at some point.
if @elonmusk paid 100% of his net worth ($1.4 trillion) as a tax it would only cover federal government spending for 77 days. this isn’t a tax problem…
This is the opposite of what we need. If you want accessibility, talk to a chatbot. Human writing must now distinguish itself from machine-writing by stepping up its game: more complexity, more creativity, more depth.
Elon Musk is not stealing from you.
Gavin Newsom is stealing from you.
Karen Bass is stealing from you.
Tim Walz is stealing from you.
Elizabeth Warren is stealing from you.
AOC is stealing from you.
Becoming wealthy does not make you evil.
The people who take from you, promising to fix problems and then enriching themselves while trying to get you to hate those they're taking the money from... are evil.
