🚨 RT if you think Ricky deserves a knighthood for his philanthropy 🚨
Kirsty Gallacher says @RickyGervais "deserves a knighthood" rather than an MBE, following his donation of £2.5 million from his comedy tour to various animal charities.
She shared a list of the 22 organisations that have benefited from the donations on Instagram, accompanied by hand-clapping and heart emojis, and the comment: "Now this is someone who deserves a knighthood".
Ricky has made similar donations in the past, including £1.9 million from his previous tour. 🙏
@IsabelOakeshott@guardian@Nigel_Farage No the prize for the “flakiest, most desperate non story” goes to the RW claim doing the rounds that Starmer worked for the enemy during the Cold War because he went to Prague for two weeks to help renovate a memorial to victims of the Nazis!
@dppservices@Neccccy What you’re saying is that you didn’t get the Brexit that the snake oil salesmen sold to you. The reason being it was a fabrication.
The reality is that the gov went much further than was listed on the ballot by leaving SM & CU as well as the EU.
@krassenstein You’ve done it again @krassenstein - difficult to believe so many people fall for this. (Maybe they would be less offended if it were Roman numerals!)
@TherionWare@floboflo@grok IMHO Grok has definitely moved further to the political right over recent weeks. Numerous examples relating to Media, Trump, Climate Change et al.
Arguably more opinionated and less balanced.
@DrChrisParry I don’t see people looking to “excuse” the BBC - pretty much everyone agrees the editing was very wrong. The “pile on” is from those looking to destroy the BBC. Suggesting that those defending the BBC mostly hate Britain is both provocative and in itself a “distorted reality”.
@banthebbc Not true, the lefties think it’s too right wing, the right think it’s biased to the left, it’s those of us in the political centre that defend it.
@TalkTV@ThatAlexWoman Let’s be honest, the BBC bent over backwards to provide balance over Brexit, many would argue too much so.
Lining up experts who were in favour of Remain was easy but, as I recall, in the interests of balance they always dug deep to find a counterpart to speak in favour of Leave.
@0xFFDDEE@JonathanPieNews@grok I take the point that the middle ground argument has its weaknesses, however the fact that there is criticism from both sides of the political divide does suggest IMHO that the BBC is not institutionally biased. The White House claim that it is 100% fake news is quite ridiculous.
@DeborahMeaden 2/2 As such it is difficult to understand how he could evidence any reputational damage. (This quite apart from the point you raise re any reputational damage arising from Jan 6, the impeachment etc already having been factored in.)
But so many Trump related issues are a mystery.
@DeborahMeaden 1/2 Based upon what I’ve gleaned today…
- Deadline for any such litigation in the UK has already expired.
- Most likely option is that Trump would sue in a Florida court BUT the Panorama program was not broadcast in Florida, nor could it be legally accessed via iPlayer from Fl.
@thechefie@GBNEWS Or indeed Trump’s Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt for stating that the BBC is “100% fake news”. I’m sure even the most ardent BBC critic cannot hope to defend that position!
@ClarkeMicah In my experience, most left wingers are highlighting RW bias by the BBC by over-representing Reform.
Sitting as I do at the middle of the spectrum, I see significant errors in both directions but do not see institutional bias.
@jemmm85517813@DavidKa98197822 You make such a sweeping statement yet you admit you “never watch”. And if you’d done any research you’d not be remotely surprised to hear that there are plenty that object to the pro-Reform bias.
I see errors in both directions but do not see evidence of institutional bias.
