I directed an episode of #LamplightRadioPlay! Adapted from the short story by @R_Turkewitz, ELEVATOR GIRL recounts a young woman's horrible night trapped in an elevator with the specter of her past. The cast is INCREDIBLE and @andywardlaw is an amazing writer/producer. Go listen!
This is so cool!

@BarrSteve Huh. I assumed it was a cultural difference...in the States, broadcast is aimed at conservatives, streaming is aimed at liberals (related to why so many grunts in the film industry have no idea what's actually popular), but it could (also?) be structural.
This has nothing to do with my experience on the site. It's about whether or not I want to support the company/project.
I don't want to support Elon Musk, even less so after his recent antics.
On the other hand, I like supporting independents.
Here's what I like about Mastodon: I don't feel tricked.
On the for-profit social sites, I feel like the algorithm is the enemy, designed to trick me into staying longer than I want to. I don't like being manipulated.
Meanwhile on my mastodon feed, there are a bunch of threads today saying "Donate to the project, especially your host" and I instantly added it to my Patreon.
But if Twitter had asked for a donation? Can you imagine?
@RodneyRamsey When you open the app, it says "get started" and then none of it makes sense. It looks like you can search for forums/servers, but my searches always turn up blank.
I worry that someday I'm gonna wreck my car really bad, and some innocent Samaritan is gonna start pulling me from the flaming wreckage, but the still-functioning stereo is blasting K-pop so they're gonna decide I'm a child molester who isn't worth saving and leave.
For Your Consideration
The last two issues of LampLight magazine were a special call. Each of these stories represent the first pro-sale of an author, marking an important step in their journey
So I want to offer both issues to you for free, that you may take these short 1/2
I could totally hang on celebrity jeopardy, as long as they also accepted answers like "What is, uh, that river in Paris...it's got a left bank and a right bank, goes past Notre Dame...you know the one, right?"
I hope @20korg takes this is spirit it's given:
The hell you guys thinking? You can't have the midroll tease be teasing the next *episode*, especially since you never said it was a 2-parter...
Great episode so far, but man that's annoying.
I'm offering a new perk:
For $8 a month, I'll spend 20 minutes trying to remember your name, and then I'll tell you the same three stories over and over.
