Apologies to all for apparently ruining every photograph at the launch of Poetry Ireland Review 138 last night. With the benefit of hindsight I can see that huddling up beside the sound equipment like some little moustache twirling goblin was, in fact, not very discrete at all.

NEW: After almost 8 years, we're mixing things up on The Stinging Fly Podcast. Up to now, the series has focused on the wealth of material contained in the magazine’s back catalogue and our guests have been asked to select and read a story or essay from the archive.
Starting this month, we switch the attention to more recent work with contributors to the current issue being invited to read and discuss their own writing.
On this month's episode @nicoleflattery is joined by Darragh McCausland and Nicole Morris, to read from and discuss their essays in the latest issue of The Stinging Fly magazine, Issue 51, Volume Two.

I remember being in a meeting with Michael Longley a few years back where there was a lot of talk about governance, structures, administration etc. when he said something to the effect of "we need to make sure poets have the time to dream." Such a loss.

My son recently turned 5. From time to time I still like to smell the top of his head. It still retains a trace of that talcum-pure baby smell it had when he was a newborn & reminds me of that. Then he shrugs me off to go play, because he knows that when he comes back I'll be there waiting for him.
Who is there to hold little Mohammad Koheel close and smell his head. Who is there for him to shrug off and go play, because he knows that when he comes back they will be there waiting for him?
