Felt bad yesterday that Malkia Strikers were not given room for their full post-match rituals and, most importantly, didn’t get the chance to acknowledge the thousands of fans who filled the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

I didn’t understand the need for the 'dignitaries' to hijack the moment in the manner they did. They could have waited for the team to acknowledge the fans first and meet them afterwards.

Of course, there was an urgency to release the girls for their recovery session, considering the short turnaround before today’s final. But, hell, please allow them to appreciate the support from the stands. It matters.

After today’s final, regardless of the result, allow the girls that moment with their fans. Let them acknowledge and appreciate the people who have stood behind them. Then you can come in, meet them, shake a leg or shoulder with them. Asante sana.
