Today I held a patient’s hand as they took their last breath.
Nursing is such a beautiful profession, and I’m so glad God called me to do this because I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. 💞
She looked so scared, she says “um, okay. I just came to say they wanted mouthwash” and she quickly walked away.
..gotta have some fun at work, right? 🤪
Yesterday at work a physician came up to me (who, by the way, looked very new & I’ve never seen them before). They asked me, “Does anyone have the patient in room 42?”
Me, looking down at the assignment sheet, “oh shoot! We forgot to assign that patient a nurse today!”
Whenever I need to laugh, I think about the time @dzejna_43 and I were talking to this guy at a bar and as soon as he said he’s a cat person, she literally got out of the booth, walked away, and never came back ..
I’m very very very tired of hearing people say COVID has a 99% survival rate. I wish people saying that could be in my shoes for just 1 shift.
So many people on chronic vents, feeding tubes, having strokes, etc. all due to COVID. You think that’s a good quality of life??
@nursekelsey I had an amazing day at work - the kind of day that reminded me why I became a nurse in the first place. It filled my nursing cup to the brim and I almost left in tears at how good my day was🥰 (especially considering how crazy it’s been lately)
For the last 2 months, I’ve been saying how great a blizzard would’ve been to end the year 2020 with. If all this rain would’ve been snow, I could’ve gotten my wish 😩
The last 2 days, I’ve had a less-than-ideal patient. The only reason I’m not having someone else take care of them tomorrow is because their Doctor is so 😍😍
And yes, my manager and my coworkers know I have the biggest crush on him. My manager has called me every time he’s up on the floor to see them and even offered to ask if he’s single 🤣
