"My fellow Nollywood actors and actresses, let's support our colleague, Actress Maureen Okpoko, who lost her sight years ago. She can see again with the right treatment; all she needs is our support."

Today been Sunday, the 2nd of August 2026 , and I woke up with a heavy heart.
Instead of rejoicing in a new day, my thoughts were consumed by the heartbreaking images from yesterday as twenty-seven innocent souls were laid to rest together in a mass burial in Naridon Village, Southern Kaduna.
My heart aches beyond words. Twenty-seven caskets stood side by side, each one carrying a life that was precious to God. Some families stood before more than one coffin because they had lost several loved ones in the same attack. Parents buried their children. Children buried their parents. Brothers, sisters, neighbours, and lifelong friends were all taken away by violence.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18
As I looked at those coffins, I could not help but ask how many more tears must be shed before the world pays attention. How many more villages must mourn? How many more innocent Christians must be buried together before their cries are heard?
Yesterday, Naridon Village became another place where dreams were buried alongside innocent lives. The sound of weeping replaced the laughter of families. The silence left behind is almost unbearable. Every coffin tells the story of a future stolen too soon.
Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
Today, I ask the Church around the world not to forget Naridon. Pray for the widows whose hearts have been shattered. Pray for the orphaned children who no longer have parents to hold them. Pray for the elderly who have buried their sons and daughters. Pray for a community trying to find hope in the middle of unimaginable sorrow.
May the Lord receive these precious souls into His eternal rest. May He comfort every grieving family, heal every broken heart, and give strength to those left behind. And may justice, peace, and compassion rise before more innocent lives are lost.
Rest in peace to the twenty-seven precious lives laid to rest yesterday. You may have been buried in one graveyard, but your memory will never be buried from our hearts.

Never forget our precious sister in Christ and her babies🇸🇩
Murdered in cold blood in Sudan for their faith in Jesus ✝️
I'll never stop sharing their picture.
Look how precious her little family was!!
They went to heaven together,
Mama and her babies went to heaven together 💔
As we welcome a new day and a new month, remember this: 30 Christians killed just five days ago in Southern Kaduna, Nigeria, are about to be buried in a mass grave.
Their families cannot even afford separate burials. Some are entire families wiped out. Others have surviving relatives who have been left impoverished after terrorists seized their lands, destroyed their livelihoods, and continue to threaten their lives.
Pray for them, and reach out however you can at https://t.co/ldRied4yYs

I know Pastor Nuhad Hassan personally.
He is a Kurd from a Muslim background who converted to Christianity and led a church in Lebanon for over a decade.
On July 19, Pastor Nuhad went to Syria to visit his village, and on July 20 he was arrested by al-Julani’s government over posts he made during the Afrin massacre against the Kurds.
I just hung up the phone with friends and family members who are seriously concerned that he will be sentenced to death, the judges in Syria today are former ISIS jihadists, and they will sentence him according to sharia.
I will contact the members of Congress who support al-Julani and urge them to intervene for Pastor Nuhad’s release.
Please pray for him.
