Apple CEO John Ternus: "I've been working hand-in-hand with industrial designers at Apple since I started."
"Design means everything to us. Our designers, both on the software side and the hardware side, they really understand the engineering. And the engineers have a very deep appreciation for design.
It's not [like] a designer sketches something up and then throws it over the wall and says, 'Go make that.' From the very beginning, the teams are collaborating."

- $MSFT and $GOOGL earnings reports on Wednesday the 28th and $AMZN Thursday the 29th
- Full page ad in the WSJ taken out against tokenized equities
- If every SaaS is constantly cloning its competitors and every AI can instantly build its own SaaS, does all the value ultimately just accrue to the big players at the very top? Fascinating discussion on the TL the last few days...
- $FLUID dex v2 launching
- Brazil markets upended by surprise election results
- $PUMP $2.5M 'Squads' competition started today
- NBA apparently just announced partnerships with both Polymarket and Kalshi
- Solana trading bot 'Bloom' was apparently exploited for just under $1M
- Interesting stat that Reddit demographics have been trending more female and more older over the last five years
- Also seeing lots of debate about wallets on the TL the last few days, am currently in process of geeking out on Ambire ($WALLET)
- Negative premium on French vs German 10 year bonds hits highest level since early 2010's during the GFC/Eurozone crisis
- Median return of the last 16 big TGE's we've had is -27%, with 4 of the 16 profitable (link below)
- IRS apparently overhauling its 'voluntary disclosure program', including reducing penalties and accelerating resolutions, so if you are a Burgerstani who has never paid taxes and you want to come clean this is apparently your big opportunity (NFA DYOR) :)
- As included in @thedailydegenhq yesterday, the % of 30 year olds who are married + homeowners has fallen to 12% in the US... compared to previous ATH of 52% in 1960... (and we thought the $ETH chart was bad!)
- Also for another insane US stat... the average American family is now paying $28k per year for health insurance (that's higher than the median income in most countries on earth... absolutely nuts)
- Top gainers among top 300 tokens over last 24 hours include $CHIP at +25.1%, $BEAM at +16.3%, $Q at +10.5%, and $BR at +10.4%
Conclusion
Lots of blackpills lads but we keep getting after it!
Indeed... just hit a new personal best in my one mile time btw!
6:59! Not too impressive overall but for a giant lumbering troll like myself who has never been good at running its not bad :)
Primarily just doing it to get my cardio better for combat sports, but still- nice to see an improvement!
Also should come in handy when the proverbial zombie apocalypse cracks off ๐ช
Hope you all have an exquisite day and stack lots of magic internet coins my friends!
Much love and esteem as always ๐ซก
๐๏ธ Building an 'AI Native stack' for a design system that can handle significant scale and complexity - requires creating and optimizing multiple layers.
And that work that needs front-end engineers, design technologists, accessibility experts and designers of all types to work together. Because standing it up is one thing. Making every element of the stack actually be adaptively faster, better and cheaper...is a real exercise in systems design.
We use our internal AI Builders Weeks (AIBW) as a good litmus for progress, because that's when the stack is used by hundreds of people and agents all across R&D. We're talking about a very diverse set of skillsets and workflows hitting the stack, which mirrors the situation many of our customers face.
I thought it would be good to share what one of our amazing engineers (Kylor Hall, who works on the @Atlassian Design System) recently posted on LinkedIn, based on an internal doc from last weeks' AIBW. As he wrote over there - "This unlock isn't simply adding more components or tokens; it's giving agents an understanding of the decisions behind our systems."

AI isnt bad at ux....you might just need to get better at instructing it [BOOKMARK THIS FOR LATER] โ
instead of asking AI to โmake the UI betterโ and throwing random screenshots at it, be specific about what you want it to solve and why?
if you're trying to get better ux and ui out of ai, here's a workflow worth trying:
1. start with the problem, not the prompt
figure out what isnt working first. is the user flow confusing? is the information overwhelming? does the interface look inconsistent? each problem needs a different approach
2. do your research before designing or building
study products in the same niche....look at how they handle onboarding, navigation, content-heavy screens and results. use @mobbin , @vibrantdesign_ , @CollectUI and other design directories to build your visual taste. dont just collect screenshots; understand why a design works
3. give AI a proper brief
explain the product, target users, core user journey, constraints and the exact problem you're solving. assign it a role, like a senior product designer or visual designer, and tell it what to focus on. โimprove this screenโ is vague. โthe hierarchy is weak, the primary action gets lost, and the results compete for attention. fix those without changing the existing flowโ is much more useful
4. learn ux fundamentals yourself, too...
before blaming ai for bad ux, build your own understanding of ux principles and laws like fitts's law, hick's law, and jakob's law. learn when and why they matter, then apply that knowledge while reviewing your designs.
instead of saying โimprove the ux,โ be specific: โthere are too many choices on this screen. apply hick's law to simplify the decision-making without removing important options.โ
the more clearly you can identify what's wrong and explain the principle behind it, the better you can guide AI towards a solution that actually makes sense.
5. separate the work into stages
use different agents or sessions for research, competitor analysis, UX flows and visual exploration. get the research first, review it, then move to flows and visual design. don't ask ai to research, design and implement everything in one shot
6. use plan mode before execution
ask AI to explain what it thinks is wrong, what it plans to change, and why...challenge the plan before letting it touch the interface...if the issue is spacing, typography, contrast or hierarchy, name it explicitly instead of saying โmake it prettier.โ
7. use the right tools and references
figmamcp/mobbimcp can give AI access to actual design context, while browser or research tools can help it study relevant products...give it specific references and explain what you like about them, rather than expecting it to guess your taste from screenshots
8. keep improving your own design taste
this part matters just as much...explore well-designed products, study their decisions, and learn to articulate what feels wrong and how you'd fix it...if you can't identify the problem, it's much harder to guide ai towards a good solution
i also recommend learning prompting fundamentals from @AnshMehraaa yt videos are a useful starting point for understanding how to give AI better instructions
AI works much better when you treat it like a design partner you need to brief, guide and critique, not a magic box you throw tasks into
the quality of the output depends a lot on the quality of the direction you give it
hope this helps you bro @subhraneeltwt ! if there's anything you wanna ask, feel free to dm me or comment :)
Had a really positive day today. Ran my first sub 2hr half marathon, caught up with friends after the run and had lunch surrounded by very pretty ladies. Life is good man, I refuse to let a football club full of strangers ruin my mood๐ญ๐
