@diaclectics@staticbluebat We can talk a lot about cinematic elements that these films don't really excel at, but I think the primary purpose of films is always to make you feel things. These films hit a spot that resonate to the fullest with so many people and helps them find a purpose in life.
@diaclectics@staticbluebat I don't think I'll find the words to describe it right but people see themselves in a lot of these characters. May it be giving hope or letting them know that they're not alone in what they experience. As for my take, it pushes people to make the best of their lives.
@vivalarevolz I don't understand not hearting films either but as for stars, in my case atleast, it's just genuine indecisiveness on coming up with a rating that I am fully in accordance with and more often than not, I'm never sure about how many stars to give
The second Paul screams out loud "you're simply mouthing the words" and proceeds with that monologue, it's inevitable to not get the pain behind his words. It is anything but acting. Noah's shell-shocked reaction makes it all the more better. They truly lived that scene.
I just can't get enough of the "I am myself indifferent honest" scene from Hamnet. The acting is so powerful from Paul and Noah that I find it to be my #1 representation of William's self-loathe and disappointment in self. I've watched it endless times and it gets me everytime.
