Government sponsorship into @Makerere and other Institutions of higher learning needs to be reformed. The district quota system should dominate with 75% of all admissions and the national merit system 25%. Science courses should be made deliberately available at 50% of district quota admissions. This way Ugandans will develop interest in rural schools and stop the haemorrhage of would be wealth creation resources into fees. In todayβs plenary, I spoke for the ordinary Ugandan who sent me to Parliament. Our Education Must Reform. @ObothOboth@Thomas_Tayebwa
@nbstv@AmbroseMuhumuz2 He will not do much even if he supervises all the Referral hospitals. What worries me as infection control specialist is the shocking revelation from the caretaker that the next to them has TB. Just imagine is such congested ward. May God have mercy on thee
Ugandans who claim to want corruption fought are now fighting @BalaamBarugahar and @JustineNameere who are trying new ways of dealing with local government inefficiency. What do Ugandans really want? When the former LOP did this very same things he was lauded here for trying to make things work. I canβt believe the people doing the wrong thing have found Ugandans defending them. I have said it time and time again that we donβt want the government to fight corruption because we want to blame it for corruption!
@GabrielBuule@BalaamBarugahar Playing double standard is what I hate with Ugandans. U cry transparency, when sm1 does it u complain, u cry corruption, when sm1 arrests the corrupt, u blame him. Banaye!
This is a stark reminder that outbreaks do not respect borders, and delays in prevention and response cost lives. We must move beyond reactive firefighting to building resilient, community-led health systems in the most vulnerable regions!! systems that detect threats early, deliver care equitably, and leave no one behind.
My thoughts are with the families and frontline workers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The world has the knowledge and tools to stop Ebola. What we need now is sustained political will, funding, and partnership.
The time for half-measures has passed. Letβs lead with urgency, solidarity, and science.
