@PlannerSean @ChrisSpoke More practical than generous, I think. The protesters are the most extreme of a pretty large group that isn’t going away. Moral condemnation polarized them further during the pandemic, it’s not useful to do the same again when we know we need trust/cooperation

An e.g. of productive engagement w/ low trust groups might be ditching traffic filters/permits, where planners decide which or how many trips are justified, in favour of dynamic congestion pricing

@ChrisSpoke I agree with you. I just think it’s classic planner brain to respond to protests that signal a complete lack of trust in gov’t institutions with a nuanced thread on the diffs between 15 min city and 20 min nhood. The “Chris Sky” critique is the more salient obstacle to progress
