@maiab lol I always chat with the host beforehand—I book long(ish) stays so it’d be unfortunate if the place wasn’t a fit. Also they give me some discounts ;)
once it happened the host hid a roofing work, then left me a note in kitchen that there’ll be noise, hope it’s ok. It wasn’t 😬
There were few crucial weeks in Feb and March when cases were just starting to rise. Let’s zoom in on these four weeks and see how the early signals were missed, valuable time was lost and Indians were led to believe that they were immune to COVID. Thread 1/n

@maiab I came to a similar conclusion on why some people decide to just provide $$$ and spend time with someone happy with the $$$ instead of being with someone who makes their own $$$ but has less time/energy to entertain them as having a career consumes a lot of it 😬

@maiab@rishmishra It is totally different in my home country; people keep $ on savings accounts and that’s it. The mentality is to save as much as you can and keep it in case you’ll need it when you’re old. Investing is quite rare as for a common Polish person.
@maiab@rishmishra IMO Americans have higher risk tolerance in general aka are comfortable with no savings. Most start their adult life with a student loan debt. Live on credit cards. Also the culture embraces entrepreneurship. So you don’t get too attached to your $ lying idle in your account.
