@emily_sharpe4 Totally agree with you. It's unfortunate that even after forty years of quota enforcement, we still don't have a strong enough music industry that can compete with the American or British industry. Thus, to promote our music and talented musicians, quota is necessary. #POPMUSW22
@eozon246 I agree with you. Unfortunately, If we don't have a quote for Canadian music, our musicians won't be able to compete with American and British music industries that are substantially bigger than ours. #POPMUSW22
I hate to say this but yes, it's important to enforce a quota of Canadian continent. This long time shoud have been enough to establish a strong Canadian music industry; however, we still cannot compete with American music despite having produced some great musicians. #POPMUSW22
@JEmilyAmaral1 Agree with you. There're examples that autotune is used in live concerts as well but I believe people go to the concerts because they can see the live performance of their favorite musician and the fun to enjoy the music with thousands of people is more than anything. #POPMUSW22
@deanne_pye Totally agree with you. Despite recoded music having better turning and sound quality, the enthusism f music lovers to see their favourite musicians from the closest proximity and enjoy their perforance with thousands of other people will never fade away. #POPMUSW22
I disagree with Wald's opinion. Both recordings and live music appeal to audiences for different reasons. While recordings can provide better tune and sound quality, in a live concert people can enjoy music in a large group while musicians can make direct interaction. #POPMUSW22
@hepquinton I agree with you that such acts of stealing the work from black artists is not only unjust but changing the lyrics and vocal timbre of the original work should be highly discouraged. Definitely this type of music is dismissible.

@DivyaNachnani Totally agree with the statement that the original singer of the music always should be credited. Using or copying someone's work without giving proper recognition is a theft and is the reason why the schlock rock music was called junk by musicologist Reebee Garofalo.
#POPMUSW22
I think the rock music of 40s and 50s was considered "schlock" because they were copied without giving credit to the original singer. Even though the music was stolen from other artists, the schlock rock music was able to attract young generations of that period.

@JEmilyAmaral1 I agree. Ray Charles was using his unique voice of singing to convey and show his emotions in a number of ways. By incorporating his personal experiences into his songs, he tried to connect with the listeners through his creation. #POPMUSW22
@NimlaAlam You're right. Charle's gospel voice in this song was like an added instrument that distinguish him from other musicians. He was labelled as one of the most iconic singers of his time for a reason. #POPMUSW22
I believe Ray Charles' use of a breaking voice allowed him to be able to express his sentiment more clearly throughout his music and resembles the struggles he went through. He also utilized his unique voice to differentiate himself from other musicians of his time. #POPMUSW22
@SherriffsLuke That's true. Streaming services allowed us to not only share the song with others, but we can also create our own playlist and listen to the music anywhere anytime as opposed to downloading them onto our phone or a data storing device and carrying that with us. #POPMUSW22
@RyTheriault@JessSpooner6 I agree with the statement that when the sreaming serivce is no longer accessible, we're left with no option to listen to music. Nowadays, many of us rely on fast internet connection and serviceslike Spotify/ Apple music but don't store songs on our phone. #POPMUSW22
Instead of using wired headphone, now I use bluetooth Airpods, and listen to music on Spotify instead of downloading and storing just a limited number of songs on phone memory. Using latest gadgets gives an impression of a smart young person who stays updated with time.#POPMUSW22
@emkbutlerr Agree with you. The problem is nowadays the main goal of most popular music is making money. The more money a song can bring, the more successful it is. That's why we see a lot of performers trying to produce popular music. But we need good 'artists' instead of just performers.
@bvreardon Totally agree with the statement that nowadays popular music has influence on young generastion to lure them into taking drug and smoking pots. Using slang has become more common because of their regular use in the trending music.
Popular music created many false needs i.e. unnecssary swearing, fake beauty, smoking, commercializing women. However, popular music is not a 'dumbed-down' form of music. The form/type of popular music changes every few decades as the taste the music chnages with time. #POPMUSW22
