Nostalgia For Beauty

@TheKidCanWrite is supposed to be writing. I don't know wth I should be doing with myself. Really we're both just avoiding twitter and sniffing out free food

[Nostalgia For Beauty @anikas_h]

@LindsayDorder 😍 ty I’m also super excitedly for myself! 😆

Update: headed off to do a master’s in astronomy this fall! 🕺🕺🕺

[Nostalgia For Beauty @anikas_h]

Yesterday was my last day on this job and a week ago today I walked the stage and got the paper that said I'd finished my degree

So what's next ?

Do I make more hats or become one with my Lego or what?

Start a coffee truck?

Train to become a lighthouse operator?

Make bread?

[Nostalgia For Beauty @anikas_h]

@Alex_Micati Haha thank you! Now I’ll be even more out-of-this-world :P

Problem: the police aren't enforcing any rules against each other.
Liberals: we should add more rules.

This is fantastic, its a song about defunding the polic... I mean hammer, defunding hammers lol

[Ben Crump @AttorneyCrump]

I'm appalled by LMPD's nearly BLANK incident report from the investigation of #BreonnaTaylor's murder. It lists "NONE" under Breonna's injuries... She was SHOT 8 TIMES!! It took 3 months to produce and release this report publicly – and THIS is what we get?! #JusticeForBre

@keithgiles It's kind of surreal that the worst insult the right can think of is saying you're opposed to fascism.

[Parabolic Arc @spacecom]

He was wrong on almost everything he said about coronavirus. Musk is clearly not an expert in medicine. An embarrassing episode. If he's not careful with the lives of the Tesla employees whose work will fund his Mars colony, what's life going to be like there?

[Existential Comics (find me on bluesky) @existentialcoms]

In case people don't click through and just read the comic here, this was the explanation for this weeks comic. The State has been violently repressing people seeking justice for hundreds of years, and calling it peace. It's the same now as it was then.

I’ve got a very personal distaste for philanthropists

[WIRED @WIRED]

This week’s protests have shown just how many weapons police now have at their disposal. They range from the visible, like tactical vehicles and tear gas, to covert instruments, like stingray surveillance devices. Here are some of the tools they’re using and how we got here 1/

[Danielle Gunn @DanielleRGunn]

In 1992, NASA astronaut Mae Jemison became the first black woman to fly in space. In 1996, she filed a police brutality complaint against a police officer for twisting her arm and throwing her down on the pavement while arresting her during a traffic stop. (via @exploreplanets)

[Victor Glover @AstroVicGlover]

Actually no. Remember who is doing space. People are. As we address extreme weather and pandemic disease, we will understand and overcome racism and bigotry so we can safely and together do space. Thanks for asking.

[Nostalgia For Beauty @anikas_h]

@Alex_Micati Definitely! Though it’s not mine per se, but a collection of community garden plots, one of which is ours

[Nostalgia For Beauty @anikas_h]

@Alex_Micati That rain was crazy! We were out in a field working on our garden. Started raining huge drops, even while the sun was shining...then the downpour as we left was intense. The driving was rough.

The double rainbow was nice though

[Nostalgia For Beauty @anikas_h]

@Alex_Micati I’ll have to take a look then! You’re bound to get that perfect timing sometime, hopefully we’ll get plenty of fantastic views for you to capture!

[Nostalgia For Beauty @anikas_h]

@Alex_Micati Downtown has the best sunsets! Have any pictures I can see?

And yep! I hereby dedicate whichever parts of today that I’m free to making consistent time for my writing!
