To be successful in stocks or equities, staying power is required. There is zero staying power if you've borrowed to invest or do not have safe money.

Zero leverage and ample safe money is the only way to ensure you don't become forced seller and stay long enough to get the benefits of equity investing.

We've to wait and see how inflation pans out due to geopolitical crisis. It may lead to steep increase in interest rates too. Companies which survive on borrowings will find the going very tough.

Bootstrapped businesses have a higher chances of survival.
