Creating a more organized, accessible, and stress-free city landscape requires active coordination and strategic planning. A comprehensive meeting was held with North Goa Collector Mr. Ankit Yadav, IAS and Traffic PI Panaji Mr. Mahesh Kerkar to address urban mobility and streamline our traffic management systems.
We deliberated extensively on various traffic-related issues across the city, exploring both immediate logistical adjustments and long-term solutions to eliminate major choke points and ensure smoother daily commutes for our residents. Our discussion focused on optimizing road usage to ease daily travel for locals while simultaneously ensuring that tourists visiting our city can move through it with minimal confusion.
Our continuous efforts remain centered on looking after the daily convenience of our citizens, while ensuring a welcoming, well-regulated, and orderly environment for our visitors.

District Magistrate North Goa District has organised a "Mutation Disposal & Facilitation Camp" at the Offices of the Mamlatdar of Bardez, Bicholim, Pernem, Sattari and Tiswadi on Saturday and Sunday, i.e. April 18 & 19, 2026 from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm.
Citizens are urged to make good use of these camps.

Chief Minister, @DrPramodPSawant submitted his Self Enumeration for the #Census2027 today, as Goa joins the nationwide effort towards building a comprehensive and accurate database for the State and country.
CM urged all citizens to actively participate in this important exercise and make use of the Self Enumeration facility, available till 15th April.

Collector (North Goa), Shri Ankit Yadav IAS, along with Mayem MLA, Shri. @PremendraShet, SP (North Goa) Shri Harishchandra Madkaikar, SP Traffic Shri Prabodh Shirvaikar, Deputy Collector (Bicholim), SDPO (Bicholim) and representatives of temple committee and various line departments including PWD, Electricity, panchayat, excise, fire and emergency services conducted a review of the various infrastructural works and the arrangements in view of the Shirgao Jatra scheduled on 21st April,2026.
A review of crowd management strategy, police deployment, setting up of control room along with installation of CCTV and Public announcement system, barricading, route plan, illumination along the routes was also taken and clear timelines were fixed focussing on the smooth and orderly conduct of the jatra.
Collector(North Goa) directed all line departments to complete all the works by 10th April and to conduct a mock drill before the actual jatra.

Sensitisation Meeting and Enforcement Measures for Shri Devi Lairai Jatra, Shirgao
In preparation for the forthcoming Annual Jatra of Shri Devi Lairai at Shirgao scheduled to commence on 21st April 2026, the District Administration, North Goa, under the supervision of Collector and Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority, North Goa, Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, has intensified safety and crowd management measures.
A sensitisation meeting with Dhonds (devotees) was held today at Shirgao in the presence of Additional Collector-II North Goa Shri Pravin Parab, Superintendent of Police Shri Prabodh Shirvoikar, Shri Vishwesh Karpe, Deputy Collector & Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bicholim Shri Shubham Naik, Dy. Superintendent of Police, Bicholim, Shridevi B. V., IPS, along with senior officers of the Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Revenue Administration, Public Works Department (Roads), Tourism Department, Electricity Department, Village Panchayat Shirgao and the Managing Committee of Shree Devi Lairai Saunsthan.
During the meeting, Dhonds were sensitised on safe participation in the festival, including adherence to one-way movement, staggered entry at sensitive locations, use of designated holding areas, avoidance of pushing or reverse movement, and cooperation with volunteers and authorities to ensure orderly conduct of rituals and public safety.
To ensure effective enforcement of safety norms and maintenance of clear access routes, a Joint Task Force Order has been issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Bicholim, providing for coordinated action by Police, Revenue, Panchayat, PWD, Fire Services and other concerned departments for regulation of temporary structures, removal of obstructions and monitoring of safety arrangements during the festival.
The District Administration appeals to all devotees and participants to cooperate with authorities and follow the instructions issued in the interest of public safety and smooth conduct of the festival.

District Level Committee meeting was convened under the Chairmanship of Collector (North Goa) Shri Ankit Yadav,IAS for settlement of forest right claims.
During the meeting a Total 68 claims from villages of Anjunem, melaulim, carambolim brahma, Nanoda and Copordem village of sattari taluka were taken for decision.

The Collectorate of North Goa District, in coordination with the Directorate of Census Operations Goa, successfully concluded a three-day training programme for Technical Assistants and Charge Clerks.
The training sessions were conducted by Master Trainers namely, Shri Bheem Maurya, Shri Atindra kumar Das, Shri Omkar Patil and Shri Ankit Bahadure who effectively integrated theoretical instruction with hands-on practical modules to ensure digital accuracy and data integrity for the forthcoming Population Census 2027.
The Census of India 2027 in #Goa will be conducted in two digital phases.
a. The first phase-the Houselisting and Housing Census, will be carried out from 1st April 2026 to 15th May 2026 comprising 15 days of self-enumeration followed by a 30-day field operation.
b. The second phase-Population Enumeration will commence in February 2027.

Collector (North Goa) and Chairman of the North Goa District Mineral Foundation Trust (NGDMFT), Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, chaired the 16th Governing Council Meeting of the Trust in the presence of Trustees Union MoS for Power, Shri. @shripadynaik, MLA Shri @PremendraShet and MLA @draneofficial.
The committee reviewed some key proposals sanctioned by the NGDMFT worth over ₹22 crore aimed at skill development, education, healthcare, rural development, animal husbandry etc. in mining-affected areas of North Goa.
New proposals worth over ₹5.5cr were approved including flagship projects of solarisation of all mining-belt panchayats, IT equipment procurement for aided schools in mining-belts and desilting of agricultural land.
The meeting was also attended by ex-officio Member-Trustees of NGDMFT and representatives from various Government departments.

A presentation on the "National Aquifer Mapping (NAQUIM)" outputs for North Goa District was made by the "Central Ground Water Board (CGWB)" in the Conference Hall of the Collectorate, North Goa, Panaji, in the presence of Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS, Collector, North Goa.
The presentation highlighted key findings on groundwater status and aquifer characteristics based on pre-monsoon and post-monsoon assessments. Detailed data on groundwater levels, recharge conditions, and sustainability aspects of aquifers in the district were shared.
Senior officials from the Water Resources Department (WRD), Goa State Biodiversity Board (GSBB), Drinking Water Department, and Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) attended the meeting. The concerned departments will review the report and take necessary action for sustainable groundwater management.

The meeting reviewed cases under the Mission Vatsalya Scheme, and a total of 27 cases were discussed in detail to ensure timely sponsorship support and the welfare of children in need.
The District Level Committee was convened under Chairmanship of Shri Ankit Yadav, IAS Collector ,North Goa to decide the claims filed under Forest Rights Act, 2006.
A total of 69 claims from different villages of Sattari, Taluka were taken up for decision by the District Level Committee.

Shri Sandip Jacques, IAS, Electoral Roll Observer appointed by the Election Commission of India, undertook his 3rd visit as Electoral Roll Observer to North #Goa District in connection with the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls.
The meeting was attended by representatives of recognized political parties, the District Election Officer (DEO), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).
The North Goa District Election office celebrated #NationalVotersDay with the theme "My India, My Vote, with the tagline 'Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy' at the district-level function held at S Z Qasim auditorium, NIO Dona Paula to commemorate the foundation of the Election Commission of India.
The event was inaugurated by Collector (North Goa), Shri. Ankit Yadav, IAS and was also attended by District Nodal Officer for SVEEP Dr. Gervasio Mendes, Additional collectors, Deputy collectors, District election icons, EROs, AEROs, BLOs, election staff, students and citizens.
As part of the program EPIC cards were given to new voters who have recently attained the age of 18 welcoming them to the electoral family. Awards were given to best performing ERO, AERO, BLO and election staff in recognition of there service. Further a voters pledge was also taken by everyone present to exercise their right to vote and strengthen the democratic fabric of our nation.
