A few facts from an author

1. Book rights are sold on a country basis. Or a few countries can be clubbed together into a region and rights sold.

2. This allows authors to make more money

3. Penguin or Hachette or Harper Collins in India has totally independent decisions from their international offices.

4. Authors decide who to sell to in a country basis based on distribution network. If your US publisher has a bad distribution network in India (where Sonia Gandhi’s book is likely to be bought the most) you shop for an Indian publisher with good distribution network.

5. My publisher made me take out references to Mamata Banerjee in my first book. No fascism then.

You are a great artiste Kriti, and reactions would have been the same if instead of you, the guy was dressed stupidly. It’s not boys who are calling it out but very educated young liberals females who are sharing their angst.

It’s not against you, but understand the disappointment when our festivals are being commercialised in a very greedy way. No one would raise same emotion if you were doing an advert for a beverage on a Saturday night party.

By the way sharing an amazing ad by @amazonIN for this festival. People are free to decide, which one had more positive impact on the branding.

Some companies go to great lengths to not make it convenient for the customer. I was searching for door smart locks. Thought of Native smart locks. BUt there is no way I can contact Native to request a demo - either in the app or call centre. That rules out @urbancompany_UC

Watched Safed Sagar. Half-way through the series. Last weekend I saw Main Vaapas Aaunga. What a contrast between the two! Sure, the two can co-exist. The latter was not a good movie. But the emotion of longing for your youthful years and place - even if now in an enemy country -
