Looking at this comment, felt like sharing :
An entire generation of children grew up/ is growing up learning to associate "formal discipline" with western clothing and physical misery because every morning across thousands of schools in tropical climates, kids are forced into a uniform that belongs in a 19th-century British boarding school: synthetic socks, heavy leather shoes, and a tightly knotted tie. This setup is completely disconnected from our local ethos, our geography, and our climate, creating a sheer physical mismatch where temperatures routinely cross 35°C and trap children's feet in thick, non-porous materials for 8 to 10 hours a day, leading to sweat, bacteria, and fungal infections.
Meanwhile, a tight polyester necktie restricts heat dissipation and airflow where the body needs it most, subtly teaching children that to look "educated" they must first look like they belong in chilly Western. By enforcing this shoe-and-tie template today, schools inadvertently send a message that our traditional attire is casual, unprofessional, or backward, even though true discipline is about respect, focus, and community rather than matching a foreign aesthetic. Imagine if school uniforms instead supported the local ecosystem by transitioning to locally woven cotton, khadi, or regional handloom fabrics paired with simple, breathable local footwear like structured sandals. Instead of billions flowing to massive corporate manufacturers of cheap polyester blends, uniform budgets would directly sustain local weavers, artisans, and tailors, while drastically lowering the carbon footprint since natural, locally adapted weaves are biodegradable, don't shed microplastics, and allow proper air circulation to improve a child's physical comfort throughout the day. #LocalHandloom #SustainableFashion #DeconstructTheUniform

Millions of school students grow up studying a version of human biology that treats the body like a standardized factory machine—a collection of isolated parts to be fixed only when they break.
This hyper-reductionist, single perspective in our curriculum is deeply problematic.
By teaching biology through a completely homogeneous lens, we are conditioning children to view health as merely the absence of disease, rather than the cultivation of vitality. Students memorize organs, tissues, and chemical equations in a vacuum, completely disconnected from how their daily choices, environment, and mental states shape their physical reality.
We are leaving them illiterate to the deeper nuances of their own well-being.
True biological literacy demands a pluralistic framework. When we enrich the curriculum with the insights of Siddha, Ayurveda, and Yoga, we transition from a rigid "one-size-fits-all" model to a dynamic, holistic understanding of life.
Ayurveda and Siddha teach students that baseline biology is inherently personalized. By understanding individual metabolic and elemental constitutions (Doshas), children learn that what constitutes balance for one person might cause imbalance in another. They discover how circadian rhythms, seasonal shifts, and gut health directly govern cellular wellness, turning health into a proactive, daily practice of prevention.
Simultaneously, Yoga collapses the artificial boundary between the mind and the body. Instead of treating neurology and psychology as separate chapters in a textbook, Yoga provides students with a functional, experiential toolset. It shows them how breathwork (Pranayama) and movement directly regulate the autonomic nervous system, mitigate stress, and alter gene expression.
Integrating these profound traditional systems isn't about replacing modern medical science—it is about completing it.
Our current curriculum gives students half the story, leaving them dependent on reactive interventions. If we want to raise a generation capable of navigating their health with resilience and wisdom, we must teach the human body as an interconnected ecosystem. It’s time to evolve past a single viewpoint and offer our children a truly whole education.

IIT Roorkee researchers have identified key bioactive compounds in Ayurvedic Cow Urine Distillate (Gau Mutra Ark), demonstrating significant antiviral activity against the Chikungunya virus.

Led by Prof. Shailly Tomar and her team from the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, the study reports over 90% reduction in viral load using Cow Urine Distillate and up to 99.85% reduction through an optimized natural compound-based formulation under laboratory conditions.

Published in ACS Agricultural Science & Technology, the research advances scientific understanding of Ayurveda-inspired antiviral therapeutics and highlights the potential of integrating traditional knowledge with modern biotechnology.

Erica Komisar said this on Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO. Little boys have a huge testosterone surge between ages 3–6. They need to run, jump, wrestle, and move constantly. Instead, we put them in classrooms that reward sitting still, regulating emotions, and being quiet — behaviors that come more naturally to girls. When they can’t, we label them as disordered.

Boys’ schools get this — they do short lessons then let the kids run around multiple times a day. Regular schools don’t.

It feels like we’ve built an education system that works better for one type of kid and then act surprised when the other type struggles or gets medicated.

These early labels follow boys for years and can damage their confidence and self-image long-term. We’re not letting boys be boys.
