Start this morning by saluting Nirupama Tripathy, BLO who stood up & exposed an attempt to delete genuine voters in Odisha’s Dhamnagar Assembly seat.
A salute to her courage, integrity.
Nirupama found at least 227 Form 7 applications seeking deletion of voters’ names uploaded using her credentials without her knowledge.
When she talked to other BLOs it then revealed that several BLO's name was used to upload form 7 seeking deletion of genuine voters.
On September 4, 10 BLOS including Nirupama filed Police Complaint.
And now after a preliminary inquiry, the ECI has suspended SANTOSH KUMAR NAYAK, the EO of the Dhamnagar council and the area’s AERO for the SIR exercise, who used the credentials of BLOs to submit the bulk deletion applications.
And as expected over 90% of these form 7 applications were submitted against Muslim voters of the constituency.
Nirupama has told the @IndianExpress “I shared OTPs with the AERO and his staff at least three times. I thought it’s for verification purposes. When I found out about processing of 227 Form 7s for deletion of voters on my behalf, I spoke to other BLOs, and they said they were seeing a similar situation. This prompted us to take action.”
In Odisha 17.67 lakh voters has been deleted under SIR exercise. The total number of voters in Odisha went down from 3.33 crore before the SIR began to 3.16 crore in the final roll.
Nirupama Tripathy is an anganwadi worker. Deserves a salute and must be rewarded. Though I fear, she may bear the consequences.
SANTOSH KUMAR NAYAK, is India's enemy. Shouldn't he be tried for treason?
Every genuine voter’s right to vote must be protected.
I have asked the CEO to provide constituency-wise details of Form 7 objections, including the number of bulk objections and those filed without stating the prescribed reason or providing the required details for seeking deletion of voters.
There are serious concerns that bulk objections may be being used to target the votes of minorities, Dalits, tribals and other backward communities. The submission of objections on pre-printed voter details further raises concerns of a systematic attempt to subvert the SIR process.
I have also called for FIRs against those found involved in such criminal activities, as attempts to manipulate the electoral roll and communalise the process cannot be allowed. Copies of such FIRs should be sent to the Chief Secretary.
The electoral process must remain transparent, fair and free from any attempt to disenfranchise genuine voters.
PLEASE READ. THIS IS IMPORTANT. SEE HOW YOUR TAX MONEY IS WASTED ON FRAUD PSEUDOSCIENCE STUDIES BY THE BJP GOVERNMENT.
The study did not demonstrate added benefit, and its claim of prolonged safety is a lie.
No demonstrated benefit
Ashwagandha did not produce a statistically convincing improvement in antibody responses, COVID-19 prevention or quality of life. There were 27 infections among 598 Ashwagandha recipients and 20 among 602 placebo recipients. This does not demonstrate protection.
Some numbers are mathematically impossible
The same supplement reports a spread (standard deviation) of 13.8 for a questionnaire score that mathematically cannot have a spread larger than about 10.8–12 — like reporting that everyone in a room is between 5 and 6 feet tall, with an average variation of 2 feet. Elsewhere, the placebo group’s heights supposedly vary by 17–22 cm while every other group varies by 9–10 cm; the odds of that happening in a real randomized trial are about one in a trillion trillion trillion.
The one “positive” result is an illusion created by math
The abstract says the Ashwagandha group showed “persistently higher” antibody levels in one subgroup. The paper’s own Table 2 shows the opposite: that group’s actual antibody levels were lower at every single time point. The “20–40% higher” claim comes from measuring change from each group’s starting point — and the Ashwagandha group happened to start 25–34% lower, so its catch-up looks bigger as a percentage. It is like two runners: one starts 10 metres behind and both finish together; you then praise the trailing runner for “gaining more metres.” That is not a drug effect; it is an accounting artifact. The paper never tells readers this.
The safety story is a lie and the bad bits were left out
“Safe” in this paper means “no statistically proven difference in harms” - but the trial was not designed to detect rare or moderate harms, and every actual number tilts against the herb: more adverse events (337 vs 309), more serious adverse events (6 vs 2), more probably drug-related events (7 vs 2), and more dropouts (92 vs 76) in the Ashwagandha arm. Some numbers were simply misreported: serious reactions are listed as “0.08%” when the real figure is 0.67% - ten times higher. Significant differences in blood tests (including D-dimer, a clotting marker that matters after an adenovirus-based vaccine like Covishield) appear in the tables but are never mentioned in the text, which instead says all lab results stayed normal. And 168 people (14%) left the trial for “various reasons” that are never itemized, so the claim that “no one quit because of side effects” cannot be checked.
Basic numbers and statistical tests do not agree.
Nobody can say how many people were actually in the trial. The text reports 11 symptomatic COVID-19 infections, while the adverse-event table reports 22. Depending on which table you read, the same 1,200 participants split into subgroups four different, mutually contradictory ways (the totals come out as 1,200, 1,194, 1,019-labelled-as-919, and 1,025). One trial cannot have four different headcounts. Dropout rates also varied bizarrely between recruitment waves - 23.7% in one group versus 5.4% in another, with no explanation. Some statistical test results cannot be reproduced from the printed counts.
Some laboratory data require urgent verification. Some of the data were literally copied and pasted.
In the paper’s quality-of-life supplement, one column of numbers (baseline results for the Ashwagandha group) reappears — digit for digit, all eight values — as a completely different column (week-28 results for the placebo group). Two different groups of people, measured six months apart, do not produce identical results down to the second decimal place. This is a copy-paste job, and it means at least one of those columns is not real data. One table reports a very large difference in blood urea between groups, with small variation within each group, yet gives a statistical result suggesting little difference. The corresponding urea-nitrogen value also does not fit. In the quality-of-life supplement, four pairs of averages and measures of variation are repeated exactly across different groups and visits.
Ashwagandha's quality documents do not consistently support their own claims.
A raw-root test reports 0.048% total alkaloids against its stated minimum of 0.3%, while declaring compliance. Those statements cannot all be correct. The extract and finished-tablet measurements also do not reconcile on the obvious calculation. Chromatograms dated 2019 are supplied for a trial that began enrolling in late 2021, without showing their connection to the actual trial batches. This means the documentation is insufficient to verify what participants received.
The goalposts were moved after the results came in
When the trial was registered in 2021, its main question was whether Ashwagandha improves the immune response to the vaccine. The answer came back: no measurable effect. So the published paper re-centred itself on a secondary question — safety — and put “safe” in the title, while demoting the original main question to “exploratory.” That is called outcome switching, and trial registration exists precisely to prevent it. Along the way, the eligible age range quietly changed three times across documents (18–45, then 18–65, then 18–70), a planned interim analysis vanished, and the timeline described in the paper contradicts the registry.
The paper hid the fact that the two groups were not comparable
A fair trial needs the treated group and the placebo group to start out the same. At the start of this trial, 77.6% of the placebo group had signs of a past COVID infection, versus 70.9% of the Ashwagandha group — a real, statistically significant difference (the correct p-value is about 0.01). The paper’s own Table 1 says so. But the text of the paper claims the groups were “comparable” and quotes a p-value of 0.50 - wrong by a factor of fifty, and wrong in the direction that hides the problem. Why it matters: the group with fewer past infections (Ashwagandha) would be expected to look different on later antibody tests anyway, which muddies every comparison the paper makes about immunity and breakthrough infections.
The published paper contains fabricated-looking data blocks, impossible statistics, a fifty-fold misreported p-value that hides an unfair comparison, a main result replaced by a secondary one after the fact, and a headline “benefit” that its own tables disprove.

A letter to the journal's Science Integrity Department WILL BE MAILED TODAY with the following concerns about this paper @FrontiersIn

Yesterday, @IndianExpress reported an unprecedented rupture inside the Election Commission: TWO of its three members objecting on record, 14 times in 10 months, to decisions taken without their knowledge.
Today, the second part of our investigation looks at the concern Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi flagged most often: Who really controls our electoral rolls?
We followed that question to Goa, where we found something deeply concerning.
Stay with me....

The video from Jamui, Bihar is deeply disturbing.
Two Class 10 students were stopped on a road. Harassed. Humiliated. Molested. A young girl, hands folded, begged to be let go while goons groped her and dragged her away.
Who gave these men the right to behave like this? This is not "culture." It is patriarchy: the belief that any man can police a girl's body, her movement, her choices.
When control is mistaken for culture, and such attitudes are normalised by Andhbhakts, mobs start believing they are the law.
Every individual in that video must be identified and prosecuted under POCSO, and justice must be swift. And if the incident happened on September 19th, why are the culprits not behind bars yet?
And the Bihar government must answer why a girl is not safe on a public road at 7 pm?

modern parenting in a metro can feel like a very well furnished prison.
I know how that sounds. 3/4BHK (and EMI), cook, car, two incomes. Nobody is coming to feel sorry for anyone. But it still feels heavy.
my parents raised me where almost all neighbouring families knew my name. there was always some neighbour who cared to feed me lunch when mom was late. summers in grandparents' place. nobody was paid for any of it. that was the village. it was free and it was everywhere.
then folks (who are now in their late 30s/40s) moved to Bengaluru/Gurugram/Pune for work, kept the kids, and lost the village.
so now two adults run an operation that a dozen used to share. and the way you run it is : you buy the village back.
nanny, daycare, a school that picks up at 7 30 am and drops the kid back by 3-4pm, the extra bedroom for the grandparent/nanny.
get the drift? a kid in a metro costs more precisely because every hour of care that used to be free is now a line item.
the part I keep chewing on is the double income. it is not greed. it is the only way the math even works. but it comes with its own bill - two people on 9pm calls, family time under attack, and a mental load that no amount of hired help absorbs.
the alternative is one parent pauses. that pause usually lands on the mom. not because anyone sat down and chose it, but because the salary gap, the maternity leave, and the fifteen "who will pick up" moments a week all point the same direction. I don't think that is a choice families are making. it is a default the city hands them.
and the third option - grandparents move in - means two 68 year olds give up their friends, their evening walks, their own city, to be free labour in one they didn't pick.
every version costs someone. money, a career, presence, or a parent's retirement. there is no configuration where nobody pays. we just get to pick who.
Families raising kids in the cities are today one of the most under-served segments of society - they have all the comforts without the care young families need.
This is a primary school in Noida, a city supposed to be one of the most prosperous in entire UP.
Sincere appeal to our UP politicians—stop the Hindu-Muslim politics. FIX OUR GOVT SCHOOLS!

“Affordable healthcare” and “Affordable for all” at Max Smart Hospital -is it true ? Just asking?
And Why should government be promoting private hospitals?
Around 80% of FCNR flows came because banks gave loans to NRIs with the condition that they would invest in FCNR.
Wow!
Close to 7% returns on USD and that too using Indian banks' money.
NRIs are having windfall gains.
And if INR underperforms compared to USD, resident Indians will fund the non resident Indians.
Isn't that a clear statement of how resident Indians are treated?

🚨#Announcement
From Day 1, we have not let any student or protester fight this battle alone.
Nishu’s father Sanjay ji’s case is harrowing. Gang members like Swatantra Bhardwaj are openly flaunting that they attempted murder on Sanjay ji who was simply peacefully protesting for NEET students. Sanjay ji was brutally attacked and barely survived.
Therefore, I, along with other Cockroach Janta Party members will reach the Parliament Street Police Station tomorrow at 10 AM and seek justice for Sanjay ji and Nishu.
There is clear admission on the record now. We will not allow Delhi Police to protect criminal gangs in our national capital!
@Cockroachisback
Allow me to tell you what exactly happened after BJP-protected goon Swatantra Bhardwaj's attack on Dalit man Sanjay at our Jantar Mantar protest:
- Sanjay ji's skull was cracked open. The wound dimensions were of such great size that it obviously warranted an Attempt to Murder charge in the FIR (Section 307 of IPC).
- The Police refused to add that charge.
- This Section would've led to his immediate arrest as it is a cognizable and non-bailable offence.
- To avoid this arrest, the Police flat out refused to add this Section.
- We asked that at the moment, the "grievous injury" section be added (Sec 326) which would also lead to his immediate arrest.
- DCP Sachin Sharma, ACP Ajay Sharma flatly refused.
- Not just this, they told us on our faces "go get a court order"!
- The expert medical opinion has still not been received by us.
- The other gang members who were accomplices of Bhardwaj have also not been identified so far, despite several of them making reels immediately after the attack and threatening Sanjay's minor daughter Nishu openly.
- Now Bhardwaj openly flaunts of Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra pressuring the Police to release him from the Police Station and not to add any strict sections that can lead to his arrest!
So tell us why should Mishra not be made an accomplice in the FIR since he illegally interfered with the course of justice? Why should he not resign for protecting gang members and abusing his office? Does BJP's leadership support this?
