Thank you so much @HenleyLitFest for inviting me to discuss THE STORY OF A HEART with the wonderful @JimDown8 last night. Amazing audience, amazing brownies, We had a blast!

@sallyephillips This in turn puts more pressure on Sen schools, increases need for transport, and contributes to a less inclusive society overall with fewer opportunities for children to grow up within their local communities.
@sallyephillips This totally disincentivises schools from becoming inclusive. There’s much evidence that children with DS have better outcomes in mainstream however children are pushed in to special schools for lack of inclusive mainstreams.
It was a pleasure to lead a symposium at @t21rs this year on #DownSyndrome Regression Disorder. A fantastic evidence-based review of what DSRD is and how we are moving forward with treatment from an international expert panel! @DrCathyFranklin@ChildrensLA@KeckMedicineUSC
@t21rs what an utterly inspiring conference! Raising awareness of what can be achieved through multiprofessional collaboration and coproduction. Can’t wait to share what we’ve learnt with our local DS community (and beyond)! https://t.co/Bsc6ohvxP8

We believe that robotic-assisted surgery is a solution to bring minimal access surgery to more patients around the world. Exciting to see the benefits for patients being reported in @TheTimes https://t.co/iHunmJpdHr
Fantastic work @FrancesDixon & team, reporting results of the VOLCANO trial providing evidence of ergo benefits with certain MIS approaches to colorectal surgery 🌋
Rare treat to see “ergonomic” & “randomized trial” in the same title, bravo 👏

Olly has been prevented from bouncing at @oxygenfreejump Acton for 1st time today bcos he has Down Syndrome. They need a letter from the GP. To say what exactly? Olly was pointlessly X-Rayed to be able to join British gymnastics. 💔🥲 insurers misinformed @DSAInfo@DSRF_UK
Great to see @sallyephillips and Gillian from @DSAInfo putting the record straight on @BBCbreakfast re neck instablitiy and gyms. Natty too was asked for a physio check before being allowed to join our local gymnastics club. Utterly pointless. Time for the guidance to be updated.
From Jan 2025 #DownSyndrome to be added to school census in England identifying pupil numbers & locations enabling targeted resources such as those produced @SueBTalk@dseint to reach more people. Thanks @SueBTalk for helping this to happen #DownSyndromeAct

As councils crumble, a new scapegoat has been found: the parents of disabled and vulnerable children. John Harris: “To state the blindingly obvious, this is not about pushy mums and dads: it is a story about systemic failure, and its sheer expense.” https://t.co/iHevnHz3mN
