Did not expect a @whoweekly opener in today's @statnews Morning Rounds newsletter from @_gaffknee, but yes, this makes perfect sense to me, a health policy Wholigan. https://t.co/lmPhuZHeP4
It's really too bad that I trust Sandra's reporting implicitly because I would give anything for this to be fake news. At least there's time to change it! (Please, please change it ๐ญ)

I love the chaos of owning an android. U wanna face time? Sorry. My location? Can't. Air drop? Voice message? Group chat??? :(((
It's like having two factor verification for friendship. U can't prevent fraud but you can at least make sure they went thru some effort
Itโs hard to explain to folks who donโt live & die with a sports team the role that fandom can play in the well-being of those who do. It seems childish because it *is* childish โ or, more precisely, itโs childlike. Lives grey as we grow older; joys become more rational. (1/4)

Needless to say, things haven't exactly improved in Congress since then. This is just a long way of saying that less-good policy gets done because it's easier all the time. And I didn't like that part of my job. But damn am I glad to see this get passed today. On to the House!
As a health staffer for a Democrat from 2014-2019 I didn't have a whole lot of "wins" to show for my work besides John McCain's big thumbs down on the ACA. This is the first (and almost certainly the last) bill that I wrote to pass the Senate.
My ALS Disability Insurance Access Act with @SenTomCotton has been passed by the Senate! This bill will allow Americans facing an ALS diagnosis to immediately receive the benefits they've earned. Itโs a simple act of humanity. I hope the House now passes it as fast as possible.
Ultimately, we decided not to pursue broader disability insurance access reform, which is desperately needed, because we knew it wouldn't be palatable in the current climate. That was in early 2016.
