Thanks to my amazing supervisors: Josephine Pemberton and @SuseJohnston , and my lovely co-authors too @Gfalbery and Sean and Ali Morris at @RumDeerResearch
Slightly surreal that the PhD is now 'officially' finished ... but who knows ๐
๐ฃ The final chapter of my PhD is now out in @EvolLetters !! ๐ฃ
๐ฆ Using genomic and fitness data from a long-term study of red deer we investigated the interaction between inbreeding depression and the environment (ID ร E)

๐ช BUT ... there's always lessons to be learnt about power and turns out you need a lot of variation in environmental conditions as well as inbreeding (hence why it's rarely been found in the wild), which we discuss too
Let's talk about #periods while doing #fieldwork. How do you handle them? Tampons and ziploc bags? Menstrual cups? Period panties? Suppressing them? My inquiring mind wants to know...
Breaking the menstruation taboo to make fieldwork more inclusive https://t.co/fHHsj86Aty
Pre-print is out!
We use a unique approach to investigate the genetic architecture of inbreeding depression, maximising the power of our wild dataset and ensuring effect sizes are not overestimated.

Haven't posted on here for a while but I think this is worthy of an update:
Im officially Dr. Hewett!
Thank you to my two wonderful examiners @simonhmartin and Ino Curick for making my viva an actually enjoyable experience with some very interesting discussion!
