Ik this has been discussed at some length but truly this question is so baffling to me… when i read fiction I am not involved whatsoever & I do not exist in the world of the story
skipping dialogue in books cause it’s uninteresting and skipping descriptions cause it’s boring…what are you lot even reading?? blank paper?? hallucinations??
this concept of insulting books and belittling genres…literary snobbery is the worse thing ever, someone who genuinely likes to read would understand that reading is a landscape and every part of it carries value. accept that you and others have different tastes and preferences.
Rachel Reid on the storyline for Unrivaled:
“I've said it before, it's going to pick up basically where The Long Game left off, so you didn't miss anything.
It’s set in 2021, so that's something I have to keep remembering.
But yeah, it's their first season playing together on the same team. They're married. Everybody knows about their relationship. There's so many things that are brand new for them.
So where The Long Game, it seemed like a big happy ending for them. But as I kept thinking about it, in the years since it came out, it's really the start of a whole new, kind of weird era of their life that is totally brand new for them. And it isn't going to be totally smooth.
So yeah, we're going to see them together a lot instead of grabbing time here and there. There's going to be some bad luck--not everybody loves that two hockey players are married together on the same team. But some people really love it.
And I think we're going to see a lot of support for them, but also a lot of the other stuff. Yeah, I don't know, I think it's going to be fun.
I'm not going to drag Shane and Ilya through hell, you know, that's not the point of the book.
They've been through enough.

A ‘FOURTH WING’ series is officially moving forward at Prime Video.
• Michael B. Jordan is exec producing
• Meredith Averill (‘Locke & Key’) will serve as showrunner
• Lisa Joy (‘Westworld’, ‘Fallout’) will direct the first episode
Heated Rivalry IS told from Shane's POV.
Y'all are constantly seething bc you're reading/watching The Gay Hockey Romance, but you have a deep pathological loathing of the entire genre & everyone in it, fans & writers.
You want "A Little Life (but w/hockey)" NOT Heated Rivalry.
there's multiple posts every day about gcu book characters and how they're either the most evil or loveable person ever based completely on headcanons that everyone has just accepted as canon for some reason
I think it's fair to dislike an author or their choices, but I really hate insinuation that an author can misunderstand their own characters. The characters come from the author. That is the character SHE wrote.
If people think they can do better, write your own book with OCs
