Such an unbelievable hono(u)r. I am so grateful for the amazing a support from @uwaoceans, @BiolSci_UWA, @UpwellTurtles, and The Jock Clough Marine Foundation in getting me here!
Congratulations to OI member @annashortega, winning the Archie Carr Conservation Award for best student oral presentation at the 42nd International Sea Turtle Symposium.

Happy to be part of an amazing team of co-authors working on this review of key issues in sea turtle conservation! Thanks for leading the charge @Fuentes_MMPB!
A holiday present to all is in @ESR_IR! @Fuentes_MMPB led this amazing team investigating what we know and what we dont about the major threats to #seaturtles, including the need to address them in combination. Check it out at https://t.co/jb666ZxOzS. @UNCW_CMS@FSUResearch
Sea turtles are exposed to multiple anthropogenic threats. Our latest article led by @Fuentes_MMPB identifies the current knowledge gaps, uncertainties, and challenges that hinder the assessments of the most pressing threats to sea turtles. https://t.co/SjMkz59Yxc
Good morning, I’m Anna Ortega and it’s time for the #Twittertakover#PhDayinthelife series!
I’m a PhD candidate with @BiolSci_UWA and @UpwellTurtles doing research to find the best ways to save sea turtles. I’m taking over @UWAOceans today so you can join me on this journey!
Hey everyone! My name is Jess and this is the November #sbstwittertakeover and #PhDdayinthelife. I'm a final year PhD candidate working in the Centre for Evolutionary Biology - I study sperm and fertilisation in marine invertebrates!🦪Keep an eye out for my tweets today!
#DEB2023, because where else can you combine mechanistic modeling, alligator tours, and dance parties with an (amazing) international cohort? @DynEnerBudgets thank you for an unreal two weeks!
I love, love, LOVED getting to be part of Turtle Week at Highgate Primary School! Thank you to the S1 class for sharing the *best* ocean stories, turtle artwork, and dance moves with me. Cheers to the next generation of marine biologists! 🌊💚
A fun read explaining the Cocos - #galapagos swimway and why further protections will help the #seaturtles and other species that use it for migration

We’re enjoying the 2023 solar eclipse from the UWA Zoology building - PhD students @jess_hadlow, @MurleyMatilda , @annashortega, and @IsobelSewell have discovered some creative ways to view the eclipse without equipment!
#ISTS41 in Cartagena, Colombia was unbelievable. I am honored to have met so many amazing researchers, and to have taken 3rd place for the Archie Carr Conservation Award. I can’t wait to “sea” my turtle family next year in Thailand!
