@lcwasser Confirming from Nebraska! Fun fact: Des Moines features in Pratchett and Gaiman's GOOD OMENS😇😈 so it might be more widely known among readers than you'd expect.
@half_agony_hope I can only think of that old Manwich commercial, where the kids are dressed up as food for a school play & arguing about what counts as a veggie.
"I'M CORN!"
"Yeah. Corn is a grain."
We all want (and yes, make judgments based on) instant results in publishing—week 1 sales, first month sell-through, etc. But it’s a LONG GAME. I published EVELYN HUGO in June 2017. Just last week *alone* it sold 25k in paperback. There is no expiration date on a great book. 💚
@BohoinChicago I always wear the band because it's hard to slide off now, plus i'm used to its weight. I'll take off the engagement ring when cleaning to keep it un-grimy. Husband switches to rubber rings when he's working (welder) since his tungsten ring is a conductor.
@BrianZahnd I thought it was a great reminder of the power of Scripture, that one can know the Word backward and forward and still miss its point (Bev).
