Violet Affleck is definitely on COVID Twitter, and seems to be using the paparazzi to raise COVID awareness by very intentionally displaying the cover of @thrasherxy’s book and wearing an Aura N95 respirator while she’s out walking with her mother. Love it!
Yep! It’s the exact same thing on the patients I treat (integrative pain management for connective tissue disorders like Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (#EDS), #HSD, and related conditions. It’s tragic. People suffer needlessly. 🤦♀️🧬🦓

@RisetteMD I share that I have hEDS regularly to my hEDS patients - they usually are so relieved to know that I'll have some understanding of what they go through.
I need nondisabled people to see disabled joy. To witness it & sit with it & be remade by it. Be confounded by it.
See my joy & freedom & comfort. I am free when I have this walker with me. I am safe in ways I haven’t known in decades.
Let me have my joy. Let me relish it. /fin
Every time I mention that >6000 people are being hospitalized and >500 dying weekly from COVID, people are completely shocked! I get blank stares, "no way!" and "how come they aren't they saying anything about it?" Great thread on why. 👇🏾
Keeping an eye on this. I dont currently offer TT because it requires close monitoring that I have never been trained to perform, but it is something I am hoping I can learn in the near future!
@RTHM_Health does offer this service, and I have a patient who had improvement on TT
#MECFS and #LongCovid microclot treatment developments, a thread I’ll keep updating:
A month ago I started my first med of TT (triple anticoagulant therapy); it’s been 2 weeks since I’ve been on all 3 meds
Already I’m noticed significant improvements in decades-long issues 1/?
@emily_rj I have a patient who transferred to RTHM who has had massive improvements w/ TT - I wish I had training that made me comfortable testing & treating this, and I hope there are CMEs/ trainings offered in the near future so more of us can offer this
Things continue to slowly improve, but we still have >6000 hospital admissions and >500 deaths weekly in the US due to COVID. Many of these could be prevented with timely testing and treatment. 25 min briefing on current covid status, real-world data on home covid tests & more.👇🏾
1. PTSD and CPTSD are not a joke. They’re life altering and can radically reshape your physiology, not just your mental health.
2. Far more people have forms of post traumatic stress than are diagnosed. The vast majority, I would say, are never formally diagnosed.
@HarryBoby4 Many people with Long COVID meet criteria for MECFS
MECFS is already probably covering multiple different post-viral/post-exposure conditions in its description/criteria. It's definitely part of the conversation, and a major one. Prior SARS/MERS coronaviruses also caused MECFS
Not trying to pick on this OP, but regarding use of nicotine for treatment of #LongCovid / #MECFS -- a few things stick out to me.
1 - the paper people are referencing is a case study with only 4 people; not a randomized controlled trial and a very small sample 1/
Since the 80s, the number of ppl who smoked or used nicotine patches while having ME/CFS must be astronomically higher than number of people who, say, used Rituximab while having ME/CFS, or LDN or Abilify. If #nicotinetest works, why only discovering now?
@PanickedFoodie@donna_ddmh@luuucysummer Physiology: this works bc histamine (released by mast cells) causes fluid to leave the blood vessels and go into the other tissues, which causes swelling/pain in hands/feet/etc and reduces the amount of blood in your vessels to circulate.
@PanickedFoodie@donna_ddmh@luuucysummer I start almost all my suspected POTS/MCAS patients on H1 and H2 blockers bc it's pretty safe and easy to get cheaply over the counter. MCAS treatment has made a major difference for a number of people I work with who have dysautonomia.
