@emilynussbaum@NewYorker this is a fantastic piece, Emily! (And also what threw the Aldeen story into the spotlight (or at least the twitterverse), isn’t it?
@ambernoelle Oh, so much to do! I love Kensington/Knightsbridge with kids - you can walk to Natural history museum, science museum, Hyde park, the Peter Pan statue, harrods lol, Buckingham palace, lunch at Giraffe. etc. Also agree the Transportation museum is cool!
@emilynussbaum I am the exact same, and I blame it on having babies/small kids early -mid 00s! Apparently I didn’t listen to music, follow culture, notice fashion etc during that time???
@ShannonJCurtin @rustbeltrants Agree with this! 14 is a hard age, but we told our son A) volunteer, exercise/play, weekly camps, etc OR B) here are your tasks each day (cleaning, yard work, odd jobs, etc) He quickly choose A and began walking neighbours’ dogs regularly and started a blog!
@JessGrose I was just talking to friends about this - i feel like we’re all back to doing it all (the school stuff, the sports, the extra curriculars, the socializing) and we kind of forgot how much “doing it all” always was!!
@JessGrose @AudreyNGoodson@michaelshafrir I’m in Canada and it’s exactly the same! Funny, I wrote this (in jest, obviously) 7 years ago but it’s still true - maybe more?! https://t.co/6RjFd7JBGO
@clhubes@SamanthaDarby Congrats, Lucy! So exciting! FYI, My son was exactly like yours, vehicles and construction sites 24/7. His younger sister wanted nothing but pink and princesses…in a house full of diggers and hard hats! She raged against the machine lol
@ambernoelle@FoxtailBooks@clhubes So when my daughter “graduated” JK the teacher blasted ACDC’s Thunder as the 30 kids made their entry, all doing the Angus Young duckwalk, and many parents were shocked but I still love that teacher 😍 Teachers make a difference lol
@SpiritbearNY@JasonIsbell I will second this! I saw them years and years ago and i still remember how amazing they were. And I’ve seen a lot of concerts!
@emilynussbaum Perfect episode. And perfect Miranda line when her SIL tells her she can’t walk the funeral line by herself. “God forbid I walk it alone, because that would be the real tragedy, right?” THAT is the real Miranda we knew and loved!
