@BBCNews I’d be willing to bet that a lot of these people turned to cannabis to help treat their issues because the only options a GP can provide are antidepressants and/or a few hours of group therapy.
@Bob_Fischer It’s gross how people are left behind. The pharmacy my Grandad (in law) uses suddenly switched to app only ordering. Without my husband to help him he would have no way to get his meds. He’s 85 and struggles with all tech let alone trying to use a smart phone.
@AngieBeatDown I think they are great, kids can have some freedom and independence as well as autonomy on whether they want to hold hands or not and parents/guardians know their little one is safer and within arms reach.
@susanthepisces @6milesup I’m pro baby steps, switching to plant based is a big change and I think breaking it into smaller steps makes it more sustainable.
I did think this milk would be useful for transition, but as a company they’d want people to stay on this step rather than use them as a stopgap.
@AnimalRising Poor Beau, and it’s a never ending cycle. Her daughters will probably face the same fate as her, as did her Mother and her grandmother. #govegan
UPDATE: Beau sanctuary hopes slips away 💔
With our petition to Save Beau at almost 40,000 signatures, it’s clear the public wants Beau to live out her life in peace after she was repeatedly hit by a Surrey police car before being returned to the farm she escaped from.
We have been in communication with a number of great sanctuaries who have offered to give her a happy home, we understand some individuals have even offered the farmer some money for her release. We hear these offers have so far been declined because Beau is a ‘prized breeding heifer’ and will be used to produce pedigree calves before, eventually, meeting the same heartbreaking fate suffered by every other cow in animal agriculture.
The media has also lost all interest in Beau’s heartbreaking story and have stopped reporting on her, which lessens the hopes that public pressure could encourage her release.
Our next option would be to go onto the farm without permission and rescue Beau, but because of how widely her story was talked about, guaranteeing safety in a sanctuary is practically impossible. No matter how much effort we can put into rescuing her from the farm, her ‘fame’ would put any sanctuary at a high risk of shutting down if found by the authorities. We’re terribly sad to say there is nothing we can do for her.
Beau’s story has touched so many of us who connected to her as an individual. After fighting so hard for her, we all feel heartbroken, as we’re sure many of you do who are reading this.
We all, as animal lovers who see clearly the injustice of animal farming, experience this grief as a familiar feeling. Beau is, of course, just like so many other cows trapped in the farming industry. Each one are living, breathing, feeling beings who suffer greatly, and all deserve love and affection.
It is for Beau and every calf like her that we promote a transition to a plant-based world, and it is for all farmed animals like her we have exposed the lies of the RSPCA Assured scheme, which maintains this horrendous industry by covering up the cruelty suffered by so many. We will continue doing this, holding Beau in our hearts.
There are still so many lives to save.

@6milesup It’s probably also why it’s called Smug. Because you can be smug/proud that you’ve made an eco-friendly choice while still drinking dairy. Like having your cake and eating it too.
@6milesup This is for people who switch to plant milks for the environment. The aim is to make them feel like they can still drink dairy while feeling that they made a sustainable choice. Of course, full plant milk is a much better option but there will be those who opt for this instead.
@FungiWinters@DefinitelySarin@Veganella_ How is a pet pig and a farmed pig different? They are the same animal. If you’d eat a farmed pig why not the a pet pig?
@PhilCla56948097@PassportAndPix And what about those who can’t afford the charges? You are fine but what about everyone else?
I’d rather pay more tax for a free at point of service healthcare for everyone than have anyone struggle to access healthcare.
ADHDers often think they're just being lazy.
Laziness is not wanting to do anything.
ADHD is wanting to do everything, but not being able to, so getting overwhelmed and avoiding it all.
