Excited to be representing @BHRUT_NHS at the @QuINS_UK Interventional Neuroradiology Symposium in London. An excellent programme with some of the leading names in the field of INR.
For those worried about patient safety during the strikes, care is being provided by some of the most highly trained and skilled consultant and SAS doctors in the world. The strikes are needed to retain our doctors in training to ensure that can persist in future. #DoctorsStrike

Today's article in @TheTimes makes the false claim that pay loss is "a national phenomenon". In fact, doctors have been hit harder than any other group. Source - @TomHCalver Sunday Times: https://t.co/pYNTc1oaM0
.@thomasdolphin: "If we want to get through that backlog, that huge backlog that was there already before the strikes started, then we need to staff the service properly, and that means valuing staff so we can recruit and retain them"
In medical training, there are numerous Dr Peter Hilton (they sit on ARCP panels, act as ES, CS, TPD etc.) and they play a huge part in trainee burnout, training retention or worse.
They are harmful and wield too much power over women & can no longer be entertained, not even as a joke.
It’s hard to know who and what to trust these days…
But this incredible clip nails it
Simply:
Don’t trust idiots
And how do you spot an idiot?
Look for the people who are cruel…
We do not do this lightly. Standing together in solidarity with my consultant colleagues @uclh picket line today.
The system needs fixing now, to be able to survive for the future.

My husband Paul is a Consultant Urologist who is a Genito-Urethral Reconstructive Surgeon. I met him when I was 18 - in our first week at Manchester Medical School.
He has gone away to Pakistan to operate on two very difficult cases and he is being videoed as he operates to teach other surgeons out there.
He left this note on my pillow which I found when I went to bed last night.
When I opened my menopause clinic nearly 5 years I had no idea how it was going to go. Paul and I spent every penny we had so we could open the clinic. He has supported me with creating the free balance app, developing our menopause education programme (which has been downloaded by over 30,000 healthcare professionals globally), the media work I do and also the research we do both in the clinic and collaboratively with other researchers.
Paul is there more than he used to be to look after our three children - who have had various health issues - as I spend most of my time working.
Neither of us expected the bullying, toxicity and misogyny that I have been and am still exposed to which is exhausting. So many times I have wanted to give up what I am doing but he gives me the strength to continue. I am very lucky having him!
