Speaking to the New Zealand Herald about her late friend and co-star, Te Wiata revealed that Neill had been sick with a lung infection in recent months.

Four Lives We Can’t Turn Away From💔
We have been alerted to four beautiful boys who have all found themselves in the UK stray system through absolutely no fault of their own.
Two of them, Arlo and Murphy, have already completed their seven-day stray period without being claimed and are now safely in the care of 8 Below Husky Rescue.
We have also been asked to help two more red males whose time is running out fast. One reaches the end of his stray period on Friday, the other on Monday. Neither has up-to-date microchip details, and heartbreakingly, it appears that nobody is coming for them.
THE CLOCK IS TICKING 💔
Many people don’t realise how the stray system works in the UK. When a dog enters the system, they are held for seven days while every effort is made to reunite them with their owner. If nobody comes forward, their future becomes incredibly uncertain. Without a rescue space, these dogs can sadly face euthanasia—not because they have done anything wrong, but simply because they have nowhere left to go.
We work under enormous pressure to secure kennel spaces, arrange transport, organise veterinary care and get these dogs to safety before it’s too late. It is emotional, relentless and often heartbreaking—but we will never stop fighting for them.
None of this would be possible without the kindness and generosity of our supporters. You are the reason these dogs get a second chance.
Each rescue dog costs £8.50 per day just for boarding. On top of this, every dog requires vaccinations, parasite treatment, neutering and any additional veterinary care they may need before they can begin the next chapter of their lives.
We never like asking for help, but we really do need it.
If you are able to spare even a few pounds towards the care, you will be directly helping us give them the safety, love and fresh start they deserve.

Learning today about a young person, 22 years old, who was infected with SARS-CoV-2 twenty-two months ago, choosing medically assisted death because they were told and believed, apparently, that the SC2 infection resulted in ME/CFS (not #LongCovid) and therefore there is no hope to ease what I am certain was horrific suffering and abject misery, broke me.

A friend pointed out that this young person would have been 15 when the pandemic started. If we, as a society, had halted forward transmission of the BSL-3 pathogen, the novel virus that caused a novel disease (note: NOT ME/CFS) would this young person still be here? /1
