Happy Retirement to PD Kola from Surrey and Sussex Police Dog Unit. During her career, she had many achievements including tracking over 6km to catch a dangerous criminal. We wish you a pawsome retirement Kola and thank you for your loyal service. 🇬🇧💙🐶🐾
I'd like to thank the police services around the country who are facing up to rioters and then investigating and arresting them. Thanks also to the Crown Prosecution Service for charging and helping to imprison them where they can't do further harm, as shown in this thread.
.@StaffsPolice needs your help! They're seeking to identify those responsible for throwing a brick at and injuring PD Vixen and six police officers at the recent violent disorder. Further details can be found here: https://t.co/xLxjYe8nfA 💙🇬🇧🐶
The recent widespread violent disorder has resulted in multiple police dogs from across the UK sustaining injuries in the line of duty. As a foundation we want to thank these heroic and brave dogs for their service by sending welfare and get well soon packs to police dogs involved in these challenging incidents. You can help us by making a donation to our campaign here: https://t.co/sZNm7d7Rxo 💙🐶🇬🇧
We're deeply concerned regarding the continued use of police dogs in public order incidents without the appropriate personal protective equipment. Police dogs are highly trained to deal with these incidents, but it's irresponsible to be utilising them on the frontline, without stab vests or canine specific first aid kits in police vehicles. We have a duty to ensure the safety and wellbeing of these heroic dogs, and at present they are being let down. We're therefore urging the new Home Secretary @YvetteCooperMP & Policing and Crime Minister @DianaJohnsonMP to commit to reviewing personal protective equipment for police dogs across the United Kingdom. 🐶🇬🇧💙
These are the lads from Kingswood Homes and Southport Mosque who’ve spent the afternoon working together to rebuild the wall. An amazing effort! @MENnewsdesk
Following last night's violent disorder in #Southport, we have an update from Merseyside Police in relation to the three police dogs that were injured. We hope that all offenders are brought to justice, and that they feel the full force of #FinnsLaw.
🐶 Police Dog Zoe sustained a laceration to her leg, has been stitched and is now resting.
🐶 PD Ike is recovering after sustaining a cut mouth and swelling to his front leg.
🐶 PD Quga suffered burns to her back leg.
🐶 PD Repo, was spared injury after their handler kicked petrol away.
Today we remember and celebrate the life of Police Dog Finn who passed away a year ago today. Finn left a lasting legacy from his time on earth, which has never been more prevalent than in recent weeks, after several offenders have been arrested for #FinnsLaw due to multiple attacks on police dogs and the death of PD Zyla on duty. PD Finn was the voice of police dogs, with his bark heard around the world. We're proud to continue his legacy through our foundation's work, and next year, the foundation will unveil the PD Finn Memorial Statue in Hertfordshire, which pays tribute to Finn's life of service, and the 1000s of police dogs who have served past and present. RIP Finn, you're greatly missed by many. 🌈💙🇬🇧🐶
More than half of people with #epilepsy will never know the cause of their seizures. All they know is that it is caused by errant electricity in the brain. #WorldBrainDay#EpilepsyAwareness
