As I reconnect with more friends (online, of course) I’m realizing more and more that everyone’s mental health is pretty much trash. I wish I could give them all hugs and vacations and the fall of capitalism.
I finally told my Mom about getting dumped last month and so she gave me “advice” for dating during Covid: “I know there’s phone sex, and there must be text sex, and oh! I wonder if there’s streaming sex. It doesn’t produce a lot of babies, but it might be satisfying”
@liz_brain I mean, I also did a deep dive on figuring out my loneliness. Because I genuinely enjoy being by myself, loneliness for me is more about being afraid I’ll *always* be by myself just because I’m alone more often than I’d like at the moment.
I have a group of friends that loves to hang out with each other but can’t seem to get a handle on checking the group chat and gosh it’s frustrating sometimes.
I got this garden kneeler years ago for more comfy kneeling at kink parties and I gotta say I’m a bit surprised to find myself using it for actual yard work on my balcony today.
Like, overall he was good partner, and I do feel a lot of understanding and compassion about the shifts that led to the breakup and the mistakes he made doing it. So my brain has trouble reconciling that with the hurt and anger that I’m still feeling.
Just sent ex a text letting him know that I am not ready to be friends yet (and cancelling our online hangout plans). I know it’s right for me, so I didn’t expect to feel so sad and guilty about it!
Nothing has tightened that connection between modern white women and romantic nostalgia for an agrarian life, while delivering a steady stream of autumn on demand, quite like the modern proliferation of pumpkin spice https://t.co/DpHYxzEyAL
Anxiety and depression hit today, which means constant fights between logic brain (which insists I frantically fix everything) and feelings brain (which wants to do absolutely nothing). I am thoroughly annoyed at my mental health.
Some part of my brain is cataloguing my ex’s minor faults as if they will make it ok that we’re not together anymore. Yes, brain, I’m aware that he didn’t like Star Trek DS9, drank awful beer, and was still in the process of learning about feminism. That doesn’t make me un-sad.
So, sometimes I bring notes into difficult relationship talks. Sometimes just a couple words, but today it was an outline. Is this weird? Do you do this?
@MsDomina00 For me, it does those things but also helps me to set aside my anxiety about how the talk will go. Like, I keep running through it in my head until I finally make notes.
