@Katja_Thieme @QuillRKukla @ewinsberg Exactly. If they want to propose some alternative term that’s not transphobic (i.e., not “normal” or “biological”) then that’s fine.
@ewinsberg@JPober @QuillRKukla Thanks, Captain Literal.
Generalizations usually have exceptions and you can’t expect people to list them all in a tweet.
@452_8954@Chican3ry “Transing kids” is not a thing. You cannot make a cis person trans any more than you can make a straight person gay or a short person tall.
@christapeterso The correct term is terf, transphobe, or bigot. They can have their own ridiculous euphemism for themselves but that’s no reason for us to replicate it.
@dr_i_rohl The Wikipedia article says the most common definition is “a method of transmission that does not rely on a direct intent to influence” (a seemingly value-neutral definition) but they named it for infectious disease? Serious motte-and-bailey shit.
@itchingseason@MagDods@SamanthaTaghoy This varies wildly from country to country, or even within the same country. At the extreme you have California, where two 17 y/o's having sex with other can in theory both be charged with statutory rape, though such cases are in practice not prosecuted.
@2damntrans In 1972, to have a political argument with a supporter of an opposing political ideology, I would have had to go way out of my way to have an argument with them in person.
Today, I can spend as long as I want arguing with terfs and maga hats without leaving bed.
@ahf77118198 @Ajaygee71 @dovesandletters@HJoyceGender When someone doesn't get "mutilation", you scream about how they're a fake who is not trying and post unflattering photos that you say prove they are their AGAB.
@MichaelBurtch@LouisatheLast Lots of movies are made out of mediocre books and when the movie is better you never even learn the book exists.
The impression the book is always better is because when you *have* heard about the book, it means the book is a classic and it's hard for the film to surpass it.
Can even one person write a review of Elden Ring that starts from the assumption that the reader is someone who's stayed away from Dark Souls because of it's reputation for being too hard and the fanbase's toxic reputation for telling noobs who want help to "git gud"?
