Any organization with a large, protected income will tend by default toward administrative bloat. It's the same in government, at Harvard, at Google. Unless you take explicit measures to avoid it, you'll overhire.

@skuwamoto@figma Interesting. We've just done that, so I'll be interested to see what comes out the other side of this quarter's roadmap. Perhaps monthly is the sweet spot, with ad hoc comms happening as milestones are met. Thanks again!
@skuwamoto@figma Thanks Sho - really appreciate the response! We're working through this now. Obviously no comms between the teams is bad but we've tried a fortnightly catchup that was too formulaic (and probably too frequent) to generate much meaningful dialogue. Will continue to ponder!
It’s common for startups, especially in the early days, to land a couple big customers who *know* they’re your big customers and will exert that leverage over you to get you to do things you know aren’t in your long term interest.
My experience is this is almost never worth it.
