There Is Blessing in Every Sunnah

“On the matter of licking one’s fingers, there is a hadith in Bukhari in which the Holy Prophet (sa) said that after eating, before washing one’s hands, one should lick one’s fingers clean.

Hazrat Sayyid Dr. Mir Muhammad Ismail Sahib (ra), while explaining this practice, stated that physicians recognised a particular power and sensitivity within the fingers of the hand. He explained that when a person eats with his fingers, the eyes repeatedly focus upon the fingertips, and thus whatever remains upon them after eating can aid the digestive process when consumed.

In any case, the Holy Prophet (sa) said that there is benefit in licking what remains on the hand after eating.”

The beauty of brotherhood and the deep bond of Khilafat was felt by all, reminding us that true success lies in living a life of humility, obedience, and righteousness.

Addressing the National Waqf-e-Nau Ijtema UK 2026, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba) mentioned that during the time of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him), certain religious people or clerics viewed science as dangerous and believed that it led people away from religion or the belief in God. However, the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) rejected this opinion, and that religion and science go hand-in-hand.
