Brian McBride and Stars of the Lid were a huge influence on me. I was deeply saddened by the news of his passing and was inspired to write this track as a tribute to him and his work.

FEEL LIKE SO MUCH OF THE MOST FASCINATING ELECTRONIC MUSIC BEING MADE RN IS TUCKED AWAY ON A VERY PARTICULAR CORNER OF SOUNDCLOUD . . . THOSE SORTA PLUGG PRODUCER KIDS WHO HAVE GRADUALLY BEEN DRIFTING CLOSER TO LIKE AMBIENT IDM MICROBEATS. I THINK IT’S RLLY COOL.
Then again, I learned bass by playing along with albums from Joy Division, The Cure, and Bauhaus, so it also feels like it is an evolution to my style as opposed to something new completely.
I got a Bass VI for the holidays which finally arrived. As someone who has played bass for almost 40 years, and guitar for 5, it is a whole different animal in a good way. Going to be fun figuring it out.
