@FChristopher77 Jesus told us he is the new temple, so long as we believe in him, then we have every single right to be there. However, who would want to be a part of a gathering where fellow humans make the rules
A story like this, reminds me of our Lord saying you are from the synagogue of…
The devil does not rejoice when you fall.
He rejoices when you stay down.
We often believe that hell celebrates every sin of ours. It is not so.
For the demons, the fall is only a tool. They know very well that a fallen person can rise again, for they have seen it too many times. They saw David rising from adultery and the shedding of innocent blood, with “Have mercy on me, O God” on his lips. They saw Peter, after denying Him three times, going out and weeping bitterly. They saw the thief entering Paradise first, from a cross.
It is not your fall they want. They want what comes after it: the moment when you say to yourself, “There is no longer any escape for me.”
Peter and Judas fell on the same night. It was not the sin that separated the two, but what they did afterward. Peter wept and returned. Judas no longer believed he could be forgiven; he remained alone with his sin and perished.
The Holy Fathers, who knew the warfare of thoughts better than anyone, exposed this cunning.
Before the sin, the enemy whispers to you: “Go ahead, God is good, He will forgive you.”
After the sin, the same voice tells you: “God is just. For you it is too late.”
Beforehand, he shows you a God too mild to stop you. Afterward, he shows you a God too severe to receive you anymore. Neither of them is the true God. The liar is the same; only the mask has changed.
The Unseen Warfare, the book that St. Nicodemus the Hagiorite gave to the Church, teaches us something else that disarms us. The black turmoil after the fall is not humility, but wounded pride. It comes from a soul that is astonished that it could fall, because it believed itself stronger than it was. The humble person is not astonished when he falls. He weeps, rises, and runs to God.
St. John Climacus says that nothing is greater than the mercy of God, and that the one who despairs kills his own soul.
St. Isaac the Syrian says that all the sins of men, placed beside the mercy of God, are like a handful of sand thrown into the sea.
If you are down now - after an old sin, after a passion you can no longer escape, or after a shame you have told no one listen:
The thought that tells you “it is too late” is not the voice of conscience. It is the voice of the one who has never known repentance.
You do not have to be clean in order to return. You return in order to be cleansed.
You do not have to have strength in order to rise. Simply say, with whatever strength is left to you: “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me.” The rest is His work.
Hell needs you to stay down. Heaven needs only that you lift your eyes.
Look at the icon of the Resurrection. Christ descended even into hell to take Adam by the hand and lead him out.
However low you are now, the floor you stand on is not deeper than hell.
Rise. Again. And again. Until your last breath.
@FChristopher77 Thank you so much for this. I fell many times in my life,Always bounced back. But the last few years have been about being kept down. I felt defeated never capable of returning. The only thing that’s helped is Christ. I feel unworthy of forgiveness.
Thankyou Father
@MasterMaliq In my humble opinion, none of Jesus’ teachings can be misinterpreted by extremists to cause carnage on fellow humans. Muhammads can.
Save for maybe “Matthew 18:6”.
Which I don’t think many people would disagree with, hurting innocent children is an abhorrent crime.
Conversations about mental health can make a real difference - it’s World Mental Health Day tomorrow. This year’s theme is ‘Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change’, so I wanted to share a few things I do to look after my mental health.
Whether it’s getting fresh air by the lake, playing golf or valuable time with the kids, it's important to have moments which help me switch off, recharge and reset.
Let's keep talking.
@NJ_Timothy Whoa ! I didn’t know that a serving MP called for military action against Israel 🤯 I’m not defending either side, but common sense tells me modern Britain would lose anyway.
And it would be irrational when we fought for Israel/Jewish rights in ww2, then 80’years later …🤦♂️
@RealKidPoker Kenny Rogers basically tweeted this in a song in the 70s. It’s easy. Just gotta know when to hold em. Know when to fold em. If Kenny can do it so can we. The end
@JamesLucasIT Beautiful ♥️ But we don’t need physical evidence to prove the existence of our saviour. It’s akin to looking for physical proof of God. Yes I know he is God. But I hoped you get my point.
@ModernCeasar The way, the truth and the life. No deception, just raw honest truth and suffering to preserve the truth. To save us all. Wiling to suffer the most inhumane suffering, deception and degradation so we can all benefit. I love him, but he loves me more.
@Englishremnant I’m ancestrally Irish. I absolutely admire and adore the English connection to the Christian faith. My mother and father also adore the English connection to Christ. Brothers and sisters in Christ. England is a beautiful nation. Made by the people for the people. 🏴 🇮🇪
@NJ_Timothy Genuine question here, is it legal to read mein kampf in the uk ? I’ve always wanted to understand what drive the Nazis without being accused of being a nazi 🤦♂️ I have been to Auswitz and want understand why the Nazis a tee as they did.
@MasterMaliq Look at a map of the world. Look how tiny the UK is. Then bleating that they were so unfair. It’s literally like the smallest person in the playground bullied all the big boys and it ain’t fair. Then look at Ireland, ask yourself why did the Uk bully not take Ireland ?
@MatthewStadlen I’ve just received an emergency alert from the government (despite opting out during COVID) that on the last day of the heatwave we are at risk of wildfires. Is this a prep for when a Lebanon style takeover occurs ?
@Alistair1965@RupertLowe10 For many years the white working class have been dehumanised for having bad teeth. You are advocating for people fleeing war zones to have better teeth. What if they are only fleeing said war zone because they are losing ? You know like regrouping to start the fight again ?
@VivaItalia2020@lancelachlan@EssexPR But many have gone on to “negate” the right to remain by committing crimes. No I’m not saying all should be banned on that premise. My point is, if there is a horrid criminal amongst them, it would make sense for them to arrive illegally as legal entry would be denied. Incentive
@RealShahriqKhan Matthew 22:19–21: Jesus asks for a denarius and says, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They answer, “Caesar’s.” Jesus replies, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.”
Jesus only cared about Gods currency
@MasterMaliq 1 Corinthians 15:3–4.
There is no middle ground for Christians Maliq. If we reject the idea that Christ was resurrected, then our religion is pointless.
I respect your views on Jesus as describe in the Quran. But as Christians, the resurrection is central to our church
