January continues to be an active month for me on the mystery circuit. I finished Rowan's Maigret. It inspired me to take a stab at the novels. I look forward to comparing it with Michael Gambon's takes it February.

Reading By the Pricking of My Thumbs led to a binge of Partners in Crime. I prefer Nick and Nora as my married detective couple. That said the costumes, particularly for Tuppence were stellar. I would have really loved to see them do the rest of the stories.

Speaking of most satisfactory, I also finished Rex Stout's A Family Affair. I struggled with the conclusion. Not due to a lack of logic but due to an attachment to the affected characters. A&E's fantastic series gave these characters a special place in my heart.

Yesterday I finished reading Death in the Clouds by Agatha Christie. Having only seen the ITV rendition with @David_Suchet, the conclusion was most satisfactory.

I started watching Rowan Atkinson in Maigret. An outstanding performance. His range is on full display, something we saw hints of in Blackadder.

I am curious if the new version of Maigret will live up to Rowan and Michael Gambon's takes. Any thoughts?

"Professor Y" has a soft spot in my heart. We just introduced my littlest to Dr. Who. She was pleasantly surprised to see the "Garlics" again.

My middle daughter loves the show. It is perfectly balanced for her. The right mixture of murder and silliness.

I finished watching all of Sister Boniface Mysteries. I must say I greatly miss Ruth Penny and her storyline with Sam. However the 2024 Christmas special redeemed everything. The panto and Wilf storyline warmed me to my toes. Thank you to all involved.

My wife gave me a lovely gift, physical copies of Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders. Even though I read/listened to them via my library, I am so excited. I love reading my mysteries over and over. I am even indulging myself with the TV series. Life is delightful.
