gmBARD!
This is the 8th thread in my mini-series on the core team behind @Lombard_Finance .
Today, we will be talking about the head of business development and the "teams middleman" on lombard.
>>>>>>> Mr. MATTHEW DONOVAN @donoxbt
The second MATT on the lombard team so call him dono 👀
He's the Head of Business Development at Lombard, architecting $LBTC's yield-bearing magic to flood Solana, Ethereum, and beyond with Bitcoin's untapped DeFi firepower.

🍊FUN FACT
- Prefers to be called dono instead of matt.👀
- The closest to ser Jacob in photogenic aura farming.
- He was a world traveller up until ser Jacob shared the vision of lombard with him. He sits on his laptop most of the time now.
Billionaire Warren buffet won't pay $25 for all of the bitcoin in the world.
Why? It is unproductive.
How can a trillion dollar asset like BTC be unproductive?
Simple. Satoshi designed it as a secure digital currency.
Here’s how @Lombard_Finance is changing this!

I cannot believe I'm just tweeting about @CantonNetwork🫨
One of my greatest indicators of how trustworthy a project is the number of mutuals that follow and big guns actually buy into their vision.
----------
Here's a brief rundown on what they are building and a shot at being an early supporter on this network(less than 24 hours to go)
------
What is canton network?
-----
• The Canton Network is building a privacy-enabled, open blockchain network specifically designed for the financial industry.
• It aims to connect previously isolated financial systems and infrastructures, allowing institutions to exchange data and value securely and efficiently.
• At its core, the network is developing a decentralized interoperability backbone called the Global Synchronizer, which uses unique smart contract technology to enable real-time synchronization of assets and data across applications without central intermediaries.
• This includes support for institutional-grade tokenized assets, wallets, custody services, and new applications in areas like capital markets, payments, and institutional crypto.
---------
Why?
---------
🔺 The Canton Network addresses longstanding challenges in the financial sector, such as fragmentation, lack of interoperability, and privacy concerns, making it a pivotal development for modernizing global finance.
🔺Links financial systems for real-time, atomic transactions, cutting cross-border delays to seconds.
🔺Unlocks liquidity for RWAs, with potential to mobilize $10T+ by 2030.
🔺 Daml smart contracts ensure privacy-by-design while enabling regulator oversight.
🔺 Removes silos and reconciliation, saving billions and fueling financial innovation.
🔺 Backed by giants like Goldman and Microsoft, with live tokenized pilots.
------------
Are they different?
------------
Compared to existing solutions and layer 1s
• They are Institution-Focused: Proof-of-stakeholder.
• supports atomic, real-time sync across siloed systems without full state replication (vs. Ethereum L2 bridges or Solana's monolithic speed), bridging TradFi/DeFi seamlessly for RWAs.
• Enables selective visibility and programmable privacy sharing data on a need-to-know basis unlike Ethereum/Solana's full transparency or permissioned chains' silos,
-----------------
Use-cases
-----------------
🏛️ Crypto Derivatives
🏛️ 24x7 On-Chain Financing
🏛️ Private stablecoin payments on public blockchain
➡️ Streamlines trade finance processes with synchronized data exchange
➡️ Builds a Global Collateral Network for seamless movement of RWAs as collateral in leveraged loans and financing, bridging TradFi and DeFi.
You're not bullish enough

#CantonThreads
• DeGods had to bridge from Solana to ETH due to network instability.
• Render Network shifted from ETH to Solana in 2023 due to high fees and congestion.
• Helium transitioned from its proprietary L1 to SOL in 2023 to leverage Solana's speed.
• dYdX switched from ETH to its own Cosmos-based chain in 2023 for better performance.
😵💫 This means employing new devs or overworking existing ones, creating new UIs, delivering terrible UX to existing and new users, increased vulnerability during migration, intense FUD, and community distrust.
-------------------
This is one of the numerous problems that Spicenet's Spice Flow is coming to solve!
Spice Flow enables dApps to expand multi-chain access with a single integration, reducing deployment costs and complexity while eliminating asset bridging or wallet switches.
This fosters seamless user experiences, broader adoption, and higher engagement by making DeFi feel native across ecosystems like Ethereum and Arbitrum, without migrations.
-------------------
As a builder, you shouldn't have to always forgo profitability, ease, or even compatibility all in the name of seeking users.
As a user, you shouldn't have to do the dev's work by trying to figure out extremely complex bridges and more
-------------------
Practical Scenario
-------------------
Imagine an Arbitrum-based dApp called Orange integrated with Spice Flow.
A user like Alice on Base can interact with Orange natively using her Base wallet and assets without bridging or switching networks, making the experience feel seamless.
-------------------
Easy, right? Let's show you how Spicenet does the heavy lifting
-------------------
Alice signs once to authorize actions on Base (source) and Arbitrum (destination).
➡️ On Base: Submits collateral to a Spicenet escrow and grants EIP-7702 authorization to Spicenet's delegate contract.
➡️ On Arbitrum: Grants EIP-7702 authorization to the delegate and specifies calldata for Orange's contracts.
➡️Spicenet's brokerage network executes both transactions:
• The Arbitrum one runs natively on Alice's behalf, funded by Base collateral.Outcomes (e.g., DeFi positions, ERC-20 tokens, or receipts) are stored on Alice's deterministic keypair on Arbitrum for full self-custody and anytime access.
-------------------
Teams that need to find Spicenet Flow!
-------------------
🗻 Uniswap already supports up to 14 or more blockchains.
This allows for native swaps, liquidity provision, and trading within each chain's ecosystem, but cross-chain interactions require separate deployments, bridging, or third-party tools, leading to user friction like wallet switches or asset transfers.
🌶️ With Spicenet Flow!
Spice Flow could enable Uniswap to offer seamless, native-feeling cross-chain swaps across all supported and new chains (e.g., expanding to non-listed ones like Solana or Cosmos via EIP-7702 atomic transactions) without redeploying liquidity pools or migrating contracts.
🗻 Everyone knows Aave, and they support dozens of blockchains already.
Users can lend/borrow assets (e.g., via aTokens and flash loans) natively on each chain, but multi-chain functionality demands separate deployments per network, with cross-chain borrowing requiring bridges or manual transfers, exposing users to risks and delays.
🌶️ With Spicenet Flow!
Integration would allow Aave to provide unified, native lending/borrowing experiences across its current chains and beyond (e.g., adding emerging L2s or non-EVM networks) via a single SDK, eliminating redeployments and enabling atomic cross-chain deposits/borrows with one signature.

@iamolusegun__ The growth of cryptocurrency is very exponential.
With each new development pushing the boundaries as to what is possible.
@spicenetio is a proof of this.
Bitcoin proved money could exist without banks or governments.
MakerDAO Created a dollar not backed by a nation or central bank for the very first time
Uniswap eliminated the “impossible” need for market makers with automated liquidity pools.
Compound let strangers lend and borrow without trusting each other.
@spicenetio isn't a temporary solution birthed from a need for another L1 or L2 or even L3. Spicenet is going to change the very outlook and UX of DeFi.
Spicenet is turning the entire Defi space into a massive soup of liquidity and users. You get all your ingredients in one pot!
We are talking about creating a change so strong that history will have no option but to acknowledge its impact.
We are talking Omni chain capabilities
* Use whatever asset on whatever chain on whatever protocol
* Build whatever app on whatever chain to interact with whatever asset
Just go gaga with whatever it is that is possible on-chain!
The spicenet team is goated!
@Peprika_Inferno@filbef

The launch of @Lombard_Finance BTC $BTCK, a Bitcoin-backed asset on Katana Layer 2, is continuing to stir excitement across the DeFi space—and for good reason. Unlike many synthetic or bridged assets, $BTCK is fully collateralized 1:1 by actual Bitcoin.
This means that every single $BTCK minted is backed by one real $BTC, verifiable via the transparent Lombard Ledger. This collateralization removes layers of complexity and risk often associated with wrapped assets.
$BTCK is live — and it’s not just another wrapped Bitcoin.
Built by @Lombard_Finance, $BTCK is a Bitcoin-backed asset designed for trustless minting on @katana — a DeFi-first Layer 2 engineered for speed, composability, and seamless UX.
This isn’t another pitch about “bringing Bitcoin to DeFi.”
This is about transforming Bitcoin into native DeFi capital.
With $BTCK, Lombard isn’t just wrapping Bitcoin — they’re scaling its utility across chains with trustless access, on-chain yield, and built-in composability.
