Capitalism doesn’t reward skill, talent, or hard work in the abstract. It rewards creating value that other people voluntarily pay for, especially when that value scales.

Neurosurgeons earn ~$900k/year median and become multi-millionaires. They just can’t treat millions of patients at once. Their skill is highly rewarded; it just doesn’t scale like software or a platform.

Artists and creators do get extremely rich when they scale: Taylor Swift (~$2B), J.K. Rowling, top musicians, actors, etc. The ones who stay poor usually don’t reach a mass audience.

Cleaners and laborers are paid based on the market value of their work. Hard work is real, but abundant, low-skill labor is easy to substitute, so the wage is lower. Capital + organization multiplies the output of labor.

Your test is measuring the wrong thing. Capitalism is a system of voluntary exchange and scalable value creation, not a purity contest for abstract merit.

Somalia doesnt have the capacity to reach out and kill rome but rome has the capacity to tank somalia.
